you know you can say you did something 30 years ago and people don't think you're exaggerating.  i was watching tv sunday night and came across a 2 hour program about the 70's.  i remembered all of the events and alot of the news footage they showed.  cub teases me about it since he was born in '73.  my kids think i'm a walking history book.

You know you're old when you remember with nostalgia the Christmas specials from the Osmonds, with all the snow and sleigh rides - because you grew up with summer Christmas's, so there wasn't ever snow on Christmas.

You know you are old when you remember desperately wanting a pair of Beatle boots - even thought you didn't really know who the Beatles were.

You know you are old when a All- Day- Gobstopper cost a penny - and lasted all day.

You know you are old when a sweet young thing at work was all about Pink Floyds  "Dark Side of the Moon" - and was flabbergasted when you mentioned how you used to smoke pot to it.  ( being too old, too respectable, too professional, too everything to have ever done something so ... daring!)

I may not be as old as you fogies, But I DO understand most of these!  

Come on.  How many 22 year olds do you know that know exactly who Harvey Corman and Vicki Lawerance are? (sp)  or Mrs. "Whoo-wiggins" and Mama's Family.... Or that know what it meant when Carol Burnett pulled on her ear??  Not many... and that is soooo sad!

and and got really paranoid when the alarm clocks went off because you thought the cops were at the door and you were going to get kicked out of nursing school and would never amount to anythingthough of course that wasn't me -  it was a friend - yeh- a friend!!!!!

I really always said I was born ten years too late... I shoulda grown up in the 80s. Not been 4 when they were over... :(
