My parents are constantly questioning me.
His hiar? His clothes? It's sort of tiring. I tend to let the small stuff be and concentrate on the big stuff....school, not smoking, encouraging him to think about his future, etc.

Hhehehe. I went through this really hardcore goth phase when I was in High School, maybe junior and senior year.

Thing was, we ONLY shopped at various thrift stores (cost reasons) unless we were getting presants, or had earned some money. It is -hard- to be broody, romanti-gothy while shopping -only- at the thrift store. I learned to be really creative.

It didn't always work, but when it did.....well, at least -I- felt like I looked good :)

My prom pictures are hilarous though, I got to buy a really nice dress, black and red velvet, totally gorgeous. The rest of my group were willowy blondes in pastels. So, there's me, with dark dark auburn hair, dark makeup, choker, black velvet dress and four very thin girls wearing pink, yellow, light blue, and white respectivly. My date and I rather stood out ;)

Some things don't change though. I got a pair of knee high black boots from my aunt for Christmas this year.

Kind of like the MakeUp every 12 year old
*thinks* she has to have and if you dont let her she will be wearing someone elses
at school. Hence sneaking, which usually leads to lying. After 3, 12 year old girls
who got make up and learned to apply it correctly they realized after 6 months
it wasnt such a big deal. I never had to look at an over painted face like some
other parents did. :>)

Q

at least now i know i'm not alone in this one as well. makes me nuts.

We have sneaking too.
It's called smoking (got caught) and chewing tobacco (too dumb to not throw the empty cans away at home, busted!).

Ewwwwww.

Tell him to spend a weekend at home with my mom and aunt...that will cure him of smoking.

Who TAKES UP smoking these days? Living under a rock with loads of money?

I did :) But not seriously.

I enjoy smoking. I gave it a try to see what the fuss was about, found out it was something that gives me great pleasure.

But it's carefully rationed, so I don't go overboard. NEVER more than 3 cigarettes a week, ever.

ok Katy so I have to know where you are now, here is where I am (you'll relate...)

Whether she acknowledges or not, Mine is prepgoth--black clothes, pants with chains, BUT expensive jewelry--tidy hair, no makeup (she is cute as a button too DAMN)--all My friends, people who know her etc, think she's adorable---so no thinking we are into devil worship--LMAO whew--the 16th birthday will see the following:

Dinner at her fav restaurant
Balloon bouquets in red, black and silver with black ribbons, (goth)
Trying for a cake with something from Tim Burtons movies along with Hello Kitty (typical goth combinations---hot topics 101---lol)
From Me she will get a diamond and garnet jewelry set
as well as the Schwinn bike and ice skates she asked for--so there we have some dichotomies--and a new riding crop

STOP you guys--we DO have horses, LMAO---

All My friends are having a blast shopping for her because they can venture to the "dark side"

where are the martinis???

She can't sneak smoking or drinking as she is home schooled--but I did find half the china in there with -----ewwwww---stuff on it.'

My son wears all black. Plain black t-shirts, or t-shirts emblazoned with his fav bands. And of course, the jingling, jangling bondage pants. His hair is dyed black (it's dark anyway), his skin is the palest ivory. People don't understand how a brooding kid can be so polite and nice. I think he enjoys the disconnect that he offers up to others.

ROTFL----yep! If she has walked through the kitchen and caught and dragged the rocker on them once, she's done it a dozen times! Yep, its her way of a unique identity (she hates preps!)---LOL and well for the disconnect---personally, I like Mine too!

This will be a fun year for both of us--

I like disconnect in people, it makes them mysterious, a puzzle, so I can't really complain or be surprised that one of kids has it going full tilt.
