Hey folks, Bear, your question could probably be a thread of it's own. I'll give a brief outline though. First, content in print (nowadays) has become second to content in video. Print and/or stills shoots (since most 'still' content ends up on a website anyway) is often recruited through sites like modelmayhem.com and onemodelplace.com, often by a mixture of 'TFCD' shoots (Time for CD) or paid shoots. TFCD means the photographer and model both own the rights to use the material equally, in any manner either wishes to use it, without having to pay the other party. Basically the model shoots for free, the photographer shoots for free, and they go their separate ways without money ever changing hands. Getting paid still work usually requires having a portfolio of some sort, i.e. photos that show how you look to your best advantage. It isn't enough just to say "I'm willing to be in front of the camera"; you need to have photos that might compel a photographer to shoot you in the first place. Rates really depend on the work you're doing, but a fetish and/or porn model at the top of her (and I do mean her) game can earn roughly $100 an hour, with shoots usually ranging from 1-5 hours (and 3.5 hours being pretty normal.) Again, there's no hard and fast rule here as the amount of time, compensation, and working enviroment are almost completely set by the photographer, since he's the one who'll ultimately be doing something with the content. So, as far as advice, do your homework. Take a good look in the mirror, and ask yourself how you'll feel in a month, year, or decade about having your face in a shoot (or several shoots.) If your best friend, worst enemy, mother, son, or great aunt came across your work (eventually they will.) Is it something you'd be proud of, or something you'd feel ashamed of? Do you see yourself enjoying it? What exactly are you willing to do, and do you honestly believe what you're willing to do is something people will want to photograph? (I've heard a number of girls saying they're willing to be in a video, but only if they're wearing a mask; sorry to say, that's not a particularly popular genre, and not likely to land you much work. It's like saying you'll work as a stripper, but only if you're allowed to wear a green clown wig and face paint when you do it.) If you're ok with all this entails, you'll need to get some photos for your portfolio, and start sending them out to photographers. lucious, The answers to your question are found on Kink's Model Call page. Kink.com pays only slightly less than mainstream, vanilla porn (and unlike movies shot in LA, Kink pays for flights to San Francisco.) It might be important to understand that Kink is one of (if not the) highest paying BDSM porn site in the industry. Your average fetish/kink shoot pays (women) between $250 to $600 per day (which may include four to seven scenes depending on the company, director, etc.) kiwisub, While many women do buy porn, the overwhelming majority of adult content consumers are men. Men aren't usually paying for what they already see, they're paying for what they usually can't see. The facial 'pop' shot is something many vanilla wives & girlfriends are turned off by. It's also a visual depiction of the man's enjoyment, probably subconsciously signaling 'permission' to the male viewer to also orgasm. Adult movies are consumer driven; films with facials, in general, simply sell better than films without facials. As for the socks, again the point of the film is usually to see a beautiful woman having sex; the men in films are rarely given much (if any) attention, and are hired more because they can get and stay hard, and come on command as opposed to their visual appeal. It's something that bothers me too, honestly, but male talent in the industry are barely an afterthought when it comes to making a video. Something else worth noting, is that usually a video is shot in a strangers house who rents their home out as a location. There's really no way to know how clean their floors are. LAM, Yup, you (and I) are pretty much in the minority. And to make it worse, the 'internal' cum shot has become just as bad; the focus shifting from covering the girls face, to a close up, spread lip shot of goo coming down her legs. It's about as hot as a dissected frog. LaTigresse, Yep, it really depends on what the woman's willing to do, and what is expected to be done. Every act, more or less, has a price; a top 1% porn star earns (roughly) Handjob - $200 Blowjob - $300 Solo - $600 Girl/Girl - $800 Girl/Girl/Anal (toys) - $900 Boy/Girl - $1000 Boy/Girl/Anal - $1200 Boy/Boy/Girl/Anal - $ 1300 Boy/Boy/Girl/Double Penetration - $1400 Again, those are 'base' day rates, for a top (not elite) performer. Elite performers (such as Sasha Grey, Gianna Michaels, Bree Olson, Belladonna etc) are roughly the top 25 - 50 performers and can easily charge double or triple those rates. Girls in the mid 25%-50% pool might earn 25%-50% less than the rates I've posted, depending on who they're shooting for. Oh, a brief note; these are Los Angeles rates. They can apply in Florida because of a few large companies there, but if you're shooting in Boise, ID or Detroit, MI, expect substantially lower rates. Mars, While a good question, take a good look at the basic interest people had in the recent election. Porn isn't made either by or for intellectual elites; it's made by and for the lowest common denominator. Highly intelligent erotica would be expensive to make, and likely sell very poorly. hopelessfool, Talent (male and female) who work in the industry are sometimes married. In fact, they're sometimes married to other people who work in the industry. Again, there's little attention actually paid to how the guy looks, what he's like, etc. Male talent generally is paid 25% - 50% of what their female counterparts make, so the pool to draw from just isn't going to be as physically enticing. Additionally, I think there's a good number of men who prefer to see less attractive men with beautiful women, so as to enjoy the fantasy that they, too, could score a girl like that. As for toys, remember this is on camera; many girls don't like deep penetration of toys in the first place. A shoot can sometimes compose of four or five hours worth of video for a half hour scene, so often you simply end up with the girls trying to be as gentle as they can. Not a defense, just explaining some of the 'why.' As for penis enlargement, I really don't know what you're talking about. I'm not saying I don't believe it happens, I'm saying that the male talent I've met and worked with have all been natural. charlotte sitting next to me says she wouldn't even know what it looks like, so maybe you can give us an example? Penises come in all shapes and sizes, some harder, some puffier, some curved, some straight, so perhaps you're just looking at an oddly shaped one? Hope that's a good start, Stephan
