There may not have been an "Israel" there, but there were still substantial Jewish communities there, especially the ones that worked on defining the Talmud.  That went on for at least 1000 years.

I am asking do you think Israel and the Palestinians will EVER really stop fighting?
I don't mean for a few months or a year or so.

Do you really think they will EVER stop fighting?
How much should the USA get involved? 


I do not think they will ever stop fighting until their leaders realize that they have something to lose personally.  I doubt that the leaders on either side care if thousands of nameless citizens die.  However, when it is made clear that the powers are going to let it play out to a winner and loser, together with all the killing the loser suffers, maybe then  leaders will think that he or she does not want his/her spouse or children executed as losers.  They might want to talk just one more time.

Generally no Mz Mia.  The other Arab states have refused to take them since 48.  Even when they lived under Arab controll they were tightly controlled and not allowed to leave their camps.  Certainly not allowed to integrate into other Arab societies.  Some of the families were allowed to leave for Europe or America, if they were in Arafat's favor.

Status: offline 		Thorn, I never said there were no Jews in the area, just that they were not fighting the Arabs over the land.  The Jews lived in an Apartied system, as second class citizens, for that time.  The system was called Dhimi.  If you have any evidence of such fighting, please educate me.

I agree that the fact that they have been fighting for "1000 years" is news to me, and
not an accurate statement.

I also feel, that there is no real end in sight.
