k, the Wall Street Journal also has the article if it helps those who don't take it seriously because it was some off-the-wall site.

Emmanuel Todd was not alone in predicting the demise of the Soviet Union (he was one of the few who lived somewhere he could get away with saying it publicly) , he was mocked too.

It wouldn't surprise me if the pyramid scheme aspect of Panarins forecast is true , not sure I'd want to go along with predicting a date though.

(By all accounts , I can't see the South being taken by any but the Southerners myself)

A government with the military powers of the US doesn't not need permission to take any state.

awmslave -> RE: Russian professor predicted 2010 demise of US (1/1/2009 11:04:41 PM)

This kind of wishful thinking is quite common in Russia. The KGB professor is not alone. They hate US just because US has real power.  Russians are obsessed with being global power themselves. US has been in much worse economic situation in the past. There is no chance of break-up; I do not see the benefit.
Russian Federation is a structure held together by force. Russian economy sinking, it is only matter of time national liberation movements start armed rebellion: Ingush, Chechen, Tatarstan and maybe others.

Given that a portion of the people of the US think they owe no civic responsibility to their community either locally or nationally (How many younger men have you heard about emigrating to Canada in the event of a draft??) does anyone think that the US could withstand a civil war and not be conquered from a foriegn power?

From what one might call in a concerted invasion...never would any power come take over. It is still true what Lincoln said...to paraphrase:

All of the armies of Europe and Asia combined could not by force make a track on the Blue Ridge or take a drink from the Ohio. No, if destruction be our lot...we ourselves shall be its author.

And BTW, I am skeptical of any academic resume accumilated almost exclusively in Russia and a KGB apparatchik at that. This is merely wishful thinking. If only because we are ALL capitalists now and know your money is safer in the west and in the US.

If what this guy says is true...you'll know they think it is underway when the Russians and Chinese start selling their dollars and move their money back home. That is of course only if the west hasn't already frozen their accounts. And how does this deal with our world-wide military presence ?

Everybody raise their hands who think this will happen by or in 2010.

The enemy of the truth is very often not the lie
- deliberate, contrived, and dishonest -
but the myth-persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
- John F. Kennedy

(compare this to any feeling that any political party is assumed to be saviours without us being the advocates of any change or proposition of change, or anyone thinking things are business as usual because it requires less energy to actually become involved in the process).

". there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it's in my control." John F. Kennedy

(compare this to increased airport and other such security out of a supposed paranoia, including the practicing of national guard troops within city limits)

"We are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covet means for expanding its sphere of influence; on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which as conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly-knit highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific, and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed." also JFK

(compare this to any 'discovered' CIA expedition here and abroad, any other policy of policing through undercover actions/invasions towards US citizens and their rights).

piratecommander -> RE: Russian professor predicted 2010 demise of US (1/1/2009 11:24:12 PM)

(for the sake of entertaining debate)

If you get as far as the military issue becoming significant in this debate , you have already accepted that you will have been plunged into financial chaos .

If I believed the influence of erstwhile foreign powers was to require military resistance (which is not in the prediction and even if it was I would struggle greatly to accept it as credible),I would ,I suppose , have to fear that the financial collapse would have a crippling impact on the military too , PROIR to it being called upon. (if civilians do not resort to civil unrest, looting etc at any point , US military powers stand a better chance)

(again for the sake of entertaining debate)

If one should progress the prediction to the point of military struggle , the concept of states as we know them (since you mentioned state in your post , which I did not) is very likely to be hard fought over.

I don't know that the U.S. will suffer complete collapse, but I do think there will be some changes. I think that the U.S. will definitely be taken down a notch, and will become a lesser nation. I also think that we are already fascist, and if the military industrial complex continues to be fed, we will be a run by the military establishment.

piratecommander -> RE: Russian professor predicted 2010 demise of US (1/1/2009 11:45:52 PM)

I agree with you that the Russian economy is sinking too , I think Russia has much to lose if the prediction came to pass and I think that Russia is fully aware of that.

That Russians hate the US is a bit too collective for my taste , also , I have known many who think quite the opposite at a human level.I'm guessing you don't mean all Russians ?

If this bloke is right , he's going to be a very rich and powerful man.

Obviously only time will tell , I'm looking for a motive .......

You quote parts of the speech that got Kennedy killed and the demise of the US will not happen as this 'monolithic and ruthless conspiracy' renders the 'professors's' prediction accurate but for the wrong country at the wrong time.

Russia and China will fall first from revolution and the resulting chaos will over the long term...provide for the formation of the eastern (Asian) quarter of the NWO, if their conspiracy is successful.

Well, if we are going to be divided and taken over by foreigners in 2010, I guess I will not worry about all those saying that the end of the world will occur in 2012.

their people will fall, not those that matter (to them), they will fall in a bad way, don't assume if a country falls that their leaders go down with them.  In this day and age, they likely have an 'out' and vacations homes all over the world.  Any area is a great bid for living quarters for anyone NWO capatible.

Why would one of the most hated countries in the world feel so secure in it's own current abilities within their own governement?  Why have a false sense of pride for days gone by?

I want to see some ol' America pride, not the type that people have read about in history books (inacurate as they might be), not the kind that knows more about American Idol contestants than their own local politcians....real pride.

Where the article originated from has nothing to do with it.  The article itself is fine, and I find it amusing that people are listening to this man.  But I find it amusing that Americans fall for these vast NWO theories as well.  Like NWO conspiracy theories, Panarin's ideas are absurd.  Panarin's ideas are not worthy of serious analysis.  If he lived here, he'd be driving a cab.

Our country has survived a civil war, several depressions and massive recessions, epidemics, world wars, and several periods of social unrest.  However, the Union still stands.  People are attracted to predictions like these, because it creates a possibility of adventure and escape from their mundane lives.  It sounds exciting, like a story straight out of a science fiction novel.  Panarin's ideas are exactly that, science fiction.

JustDarkness -> RE: Russian professor predicted 2010 demise of US (1/2/2009 1:48:18 AM)

What a lie..we, Europe, don't want part of the USA..we will sell it!!!

But theoretically..if a country goes bankrupt......one can claim it..or not?

explains what I meant, if you think your country is happy via status quo you are in a dream world.  NWO love people like you, so passive and they don't take you in the middle of the night, they take people like you in daytime -- you go into a Starbucks or Walmart in the front door and nobody comes out the back.

Like divas say.....'what have you done for me (the world) lately???'

I know they love me, I've already sent in my pledge to the Illuminati.  All us members get a secret wrist watch/communicator, so we can aid in round ups on The Day of Reckoning.  I went with the Gold membership plan, so I could get my pass to the NWO VIP room at Area 51.  A little secret, those Men In Black guys are a riot when they're off the clock.  You wouldn't believe the practical jokes they play on the black helicopter pilots.

Wasn't there a thread not long ago about slavery being legal again by the government, would you want to be such? Would you find that funny? Honestly, unless you have some great intelligence to add ...(not the intel you over-estimate)....they won't love you longer than an expiration date on a carton of milk. Plenty more fish in the sea.

I don't know if you answered on that thread but maybe because you feel you have less to lose  as a submissive is why you (joke) believe you can joke about loss of freedom. In their ideal world subordinates will be easy to find.

So which do you prefer?  Subordination in a sexual sense to someone voluntarily or by force (reality)?

What comes first? Your country or your desires to serve someone you care for only? Your country or serving someone who desires you?

How much of what you ask is selfish and how much is actually submissive?

Do you really think the NWO would love you?  Are you worthy? If they are the ultimate world govenors...how are you more worthy of love than anyone else?

I find people who believe in crackpot conspiracy theories to be hillarious.  If you want to believe that some secret group of people is nefariously plotting to take over the world and enslave humanity, you go ahead and believe that.  It's not based in reality, and you're wasting your time worrying about it.

I don't know why you want to connect my personal sexual tastes to my world view, but it's not the case.  I joke about it, because I find humor in the absurd.
