I'm really sorry about that.  I wonder if he knows I'm actually a man.

I saw it first on CSI and then I read about the couple that married and then divorced all on second life because the dude started cheating on his "wife" with another second life person and I was like lol i gotta check that one out and so I went through the whole struggle of downloading the stuff and then I discover my laptop is too much of a dinoasaur and it's only 2 years old! The game refused to run on my machine pff but I can't really imagine this being fun lol too geeky for me!

It can be very demanding on your computer because the content of SL is player/participate generated and changes all the time. Add in how many people are in the same server/area you are that adds to the strain on the computers accessing things.

Yes many years ago there was a company called Milton Bradley, they made these things called "Board games", it required more than one person to play them and it actually made people communicate! Dad never left Mom for a hottie 3 states away over a game of Scrabble..allthough when the Twister game came out, later that night after the kids went to bed...."I'm sorry darling, but your foot isn't reaching that red circle.." ( Dad grabs the crop......)

No idea what it is, so no.

I'm not a big gamer or online guy, I haven't played online games since I stopped working at a place where we'd play unreal tournament after hours. I gues that would have been 2002?

I don't do myspace, begrudgingly signed up for facebook, and basically only use the online world to increase my chances of meeting a beautiful Domme and as a research tool.

Although, i may have to investigate that World of Warcraft femdom thing Akasha started :)

And what makes you think that people on SL are the only ones who cheat or that they don't have other lives?

Why, yes, cheating on folks only happened once SL was invented. Before then people were completely monogamous... *rolls eyes*.

As for other lives, if you only knew how busy my life is and most lives of folks in SL. Most of like a bit of variety in the things we do and SL is merely on of that range.

Seems like a lot of folks are basing their opinion what is basically an interactive, real-time version of collarme on what they've seen on tv or heard about third hand.

Yep.  I am regularly online and have two slaves who I play with frequently there in addition to my RT wife/slave.  I can design experiences in that environment that could never be duplicated in a 'real' world scene and my slaves have also become very talented virtual designers in their own right so there is almost no fantasy which we cannot fulfill with a little suspension of disbelief.  Of course, I am a theater artist by trade, so designing vicarious experiences for others is something I have been doing for a very long time and it is only a short step from the stage to the screen for me.  I suppose that it takes a certain kind of mindset to make the experience work, but for those of us who are visually oriented, artistic technophiles with very active imaginations and a way with the written word it can become a very effective way to maintain a long distance relationship.  Even on those occasions when my wife and I must be separated while traveling for various work related activities, we can still spend time together in the virtual world and have a wonderful time indeed.  Do not let the opinions of those in the CM community who do not have the patience to learn to use such tools effectively keep you away.  It takes some work, but once you have developed the skills, it is worth the time investment.

I admit it, I LOVE second life.  For me it is an escape from boring/stressful/ridiculous RL life, into a world where I can do anything.  While not into the D/s scene in game (I have always found simulated sex to be very strange), I have some great friends on there, just got married on there today (woohoo!), and genuinely have a great time.
Sayre Helendale in game, if you are interested.  Look me up, I'll be glad to show you around :)

Merely intended to interject some humor into the conversations. I myself did try SL, not my cup of tea. If it is yours..fully enjoy it!

I've been on Second Life for a little over a year now and i love it. Yes at time it gets dull and  boring, but so does RL.
I've learned a lot not only about myself but about other things, I can do stuff on SL I would never dream of doing in RL.
Yes it's a bit hard and complex when you first start, that's what the mentors are there for and you don't have to bi rich to have things, there are plenty of freebie places, that is what the search tool is for among other things.

Oh btw BondageBarbieX
you should realy try it. there are areas in there that you wouldn't know what to do or were to beging at. (search tool)
do a random search of something you're interested in and i'm sure you will be surprised and pleased at what comes up.

My Second Life name is Mystique Heartsdale if anyone what's to look me up.
