A Doctor Batiste has been embroiled in a divorce dispute for 4 years. He is asking for his donated kidney back. He said his wife can keep the house but he wants his kidney or to be paid for it. 1.5 million dollars!!! They have 3 kids. She cheated on him(allegedly)

Whaddya think?

Wow
that is anger right there
much more entertaining than arguing about the car or the TV or some such
if he does get it back does he have to pay the bill for the surgery?

SavageFaerie -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 9:42:57 AM)

OMG I saw this on the morning news.
Legally it was a gift so she isnt and wouldnt get anything from him.
I personal thinks she is just looking to be a star for a day.

colouredin -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 9:44:03 AM)

wait im confused, is she or he asking for it back?

Its him. Not her. He wants his kidney back from her.

jesus...this is why everyone should just stay single and fuck around....this right here....*wanders off rubbing her "organ"*

GabrielleSlave -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 9:45:39 AM)

Surely, and i know nothing about the case it is true... but wouldn't that mean she would die?

sirsholly -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 9:45:52 AM)

before we found out our blood types were not compatible i told my late husband i was donating to him, but they were to close the surgery with velcro...in case i ever got pissed at him.

Seriously...there is no fucking way this will happen. His statement that she pay him is "organ buying"...a major screaming deal in the transplant field.

He volunteered to donate. Thats it.

~FR~

Is it just me, or is anyone else beginning to feel peckish now?

No...it is likely that dialysis would keep her alive.

AquaticSub -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 9:47:00 AM)

I think it's silly. I can understand it as an emotional response if, as he says, he gave her a kidney and she cheated on him. I forsee people starting to put this stuff in their pre-nups now. "If either party donates organs and then the benfitting party is discovered to have X, Y, or Z they must do X, Y, or Z."

beargonewild -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 9:48:03 AM)

Now that is the ultimate in childish spitefulness. I have seen and heard of many idiotic battles during a divorce and I believe that tops them all.

I think when at the pearly gates, cheaters can still get in but those asking for a kidney back wil surely be toasting marshmellows in hell.

KatyLied -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 9:51:36 AM)

I've hard of buying out a soon-to-be-ex spouse for retirement or house, but for a kidney?

colouredin -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 9:52:11 AM)

Cheating is appaling, but he cant ask this and its a rather stupid thing to ask, its obvious no one will go for it. I feel terrible for the children, they must be going through hell.

All transplant surgeries are approved by a board of medical doctors at some time before they take place.

There is no way this would be approved.

And another thing...he is alive and functioning very well with one kidney. He does not need it back...he is doing this to be a prick.

I have worked in the transplant field for years...and it is shit like this that gives organ donation a bad name.

SavageFaerie -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 9:56:34 AM)

wooops, shows how alert I am in the early morning hours. I was thinking she gave it to him my bad, sorry for the confusion.

Well I would think that turning it over to the media isnt gonna help his case, even tho there isnt anything he can do about it. Donating is a gift no matter how you look at it and personally with the length of the divorce is so wasting court time.

GimpinDenial -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 5:24:55 PM)

She could respond with a counter suit for child bearing....
Say 1 million for each child...
For the "Pain and suffering incurred during pregnancy"....

lol..[:D]

DarkSteven -> RE: Wants his kidney back (1/8/2009 5:26:42 PM)

I think she may have been justified in cheating on him.  What an ass.

I was thinking the same thing.  He probably had it coming.
