We are lucky enough to be in on the inception of a new public dungeon in New Orleans. We did a walk through with the owner today and we decided that we have enough space for four stations. I was wondering what equipment is most popular in a public forum. What do you like best? A horse? A cross? Something else? Any suggestions are welcome.

I cross and a horse are used frequently, so I think that those are a great choice. What about a some kind of thing for rope bondage and suspension....I forget how people refer to that area or type of equipment. A gyno bed is one of my personal favorites! Daddy's Ballerina, e

I've only been to one public dungeon. Personally, I think a cross is must. Perhaps something for suspensions? You could make each area themed. Best wishes, Davan

review what is available at 1763 in Atlanta and contact Lady Pact who plays there--IMHO they have the best.

Ask and ye shall receive. LOL. Personally, My boy is 6'3" and over 200 lbs, so a cross is a must. For the club that was mentioned, there is a good deal of equipment, including a gazebo which is shown on one of My profile pictures. Also, there is this wonderful cube that was built by Sir James of Atlanta, which is fantastic for suspension. Among the other pieces are stocks, spanking benches, and a number of other items. Along with the gazebo pic, there should be additional shots of the whip room. Cat, is there any chance that I've met you there once?

another one is the sanctuary for the lifestyle arts in Dallas. having areas that can be multi use helps, themed and such is nice but can be pricey. suspension can be done from point above the floor so mobile furniture is helpful. mats for the floor if heavy contact is allowed, cleanliness is a must so the surfaces need to be cleanable.seating and cool down are needed. wax water and blood play if allowed have specific needs so it depends on the desires and wants of the local community.

Crosses, spanking benches and bondage tables with posts on the corners for bondage would be a good start, also some suspension equipment like you will see http://www.extremerestraints.com/suspension-equipment_203/

Maybe something convertible? I like wooden ponies, but not everyone does. So maybe something that can be a wooden pony for one, but convert into, say, a pillory/stock for another.

Actually, I think I've seen you there before Lady Pact. My girl and I come down occasionally. It's been a couple of months since I was last there but I do believe I've seen you there a couple of times. To throw my vote in on equipment, suspension equipment to me is a big plus. Benches are a big plus.

A cross, a spanking bench, a massage table and a cage are things that I often see in public dungeons. Overhead restraints that allow access to all parts of the slave are common as well (and cheaper than most other pieces of equipment!). Master Fire

Edges here in the Silicon Valley has (last I was there in the old dungeon site) a human sized bird cage hung from the ceiling. It's a wonderful place to store your subbie while you go get something to eat. Also there were the obligatory stocks, and the punishment cell, and the iron-bed room, and the St. Andrew's Cross, and the spanking table, and ... well you get the point. Lot's of equipment but if you force me to choose one, it's the chain-link bird cage! Nothing beats the sight of a naked submissive caged standing up for all to view her earthly pleasures!

Here is an item that might be useful. It is a Cross that can be converted to a half-cross the sub can be bent over, or an A frame. He also makes a whipping post that can be turned into a small pony seat. http://www.exoticwoodpleasures.com/furniture/ i know the craftsman and He does excellent work. . An item like this that can serve more than one purpose might be best in this situation, when you are limited in the number of pieces that can fit in the area.

Yes by all means furniture and equipment of all shapes and sizes in sturdy high quality too .I could list items , though most have been listed .Instead i would make sure the space has a clear understanding posted in writing and verbally on its rules and code of conduct , and a DM to enforce it .I would also suggest there is both a conversation area separate from the main floor or theme rooms , and places for aftercare .I would also have a good first aid kit or station with disinfection cleaning supplies for the furniture and equipment . Know your local state and national laws to protect yourself in the operation of a public space .
