ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (4/10/2009 10:51:27 PM)

A friend of mine met the Dalai Lama a few years ago, and I begged her for weeks to sing to him... "I said, hello, Dalai, well hello, Dalai, it's so nice to have you back where you belong... you're looking swell, Dalai, I can tell, Dalai..." But for some utterly inexplicable reason, she refused to do it.

Women. I'll never understand them.

"I have existed from the morning of the world and I shall exist until the last star falls from the night."

SteelofUtah -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (4/11/2009 9:27:24 AM)

Oooooo but you left out the best part of that little pearl, I know that if you had it would have given away the movie but when he said this line he said it with such quiet agression it was beautiful.

It goes

"I have existed from the morning of the world and I shall exist until the last star falls from the night.Although I have taken the form of Gaius Caligula, I am all men as I am no man and therefore I am a God.

The Movie is Caligula.

"'Salvation doesn't come from the sight of me. It demands strenuous effort and practise. So work hard and seek your own salvation constantly.' I am not your son. And I've never thought of you as my father. You've been much too informal to me for that."

DemonKia -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (4/11/2009 6:57:42 PM)

Yee-haw, Steel, from Caligula to '7 Years In Tibet' . . .. lol

"A lot of folks don't like you, boss. I expect some of these mornings when I come to get you outta the bed, I'll have to pull the sheet up instead of down."

Oh my gosh, that's "Sunset Boulevard", isn't it? I watched it just a few weeks ago, right after I got back from my last trip to LA. One of my favorite film noires; every time I drove up and down Sunset on my way in or out of Hollywood, I thought of that movie. It was the first DVD I popped into the player when I got home.

ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: What movie is this quote from? (4/11/2009 9:39:12 PM)

I'm goin' for it. I'm not waiting for confirmation, because I know that's it and DemonKia is in the thread and I don't want to keep her waiting for a clue.
