Master has a CB radio in his car, but I think only the PA thingie works, since thats the only thing he plays with!

Men and their toys...i swear![8|]

Oh damn, I used to have a PA hooked up to my CB when I was a teenager.  It was under the hood, bolted to the frame.  I used to have a lot of fun with that.  *evil grins*

Yea...Hes such a 5 year old when he plays with it.  We were in the park one day last week, and this family was playing soccer.  He flicked the PA on and started screaming Goal everytime one of them kicked it hard.  Or while at stop lights, he pulls it out and makes fun of people with Obama stickers on their bumper...[8|]

I was watching Smokey and the Bandit tonight while on the phone with a friend.  She was poking fun at me for still having a CB in my truck.  I realize I am a bit of a hick, but I wonder how many people still have a CB.

No, no, and NO. That is soooo wrong!!

Now I am having flashbacks to the horrid 70's!!

I have NEVER had such an atrocity and never will.

Watch out Tigresse, they might come and put you in bell bottom jeans and a tie dye t shirt. And some funny shoes if you act up.

That's exactly right.  The QSL card was a physical confirmation of a distance contact.  They were exchanged between two hams who had communicated.  There was kind of a "bragging rights" competition among them about who could make the most number of distant contacts.

Running a little skip back then were we John? That always used to amaze me, you could be talking to someone local and then all the sudden you were jawing with someone hundreds of miles away, even with a mobile. I knew a couple guys with linear base stations and they would run skip every evening, just to see how far out they could talk to someone.

Oh good grief that would be a sight! Not necessarily pleasant either. I cannot imagine the amount of fringe needed to cover these tatas.

And Holly, if I knew what it meant.......maybe. My ears are, so far, firmly affixed.

I honestly never had a CB, just knew a few redneck farm boys that did. And, well........I avoided being in most of those vehicles. Redneck farm boys tend to have many long, busy, arms when curvy young females get in close confines with them.

Not that avoiding that sort did me much good.........pregnant at 16 and all.

it is asking if you have your CB turned on...[:)]

LaTigresse -> RE: Anyone still have a CB in their car? (1/9/2009 8:39:01 AM)

Well that makes sense.

LaTigresse -> RE: Anyone still have a CB in their car? (1/9/2009 8:49:34 AM)

Okay, so I have to ask.

For those that actually have, or have had, one of these contraptions......and used it. Do, or did, you feel like the biggest goomba in the world spouting off all those weird slang phrases?
