ORIGINAL: JDEmpath People can and do change their personalities. Your personality is in a constant state of flux. This is the key fact in cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe you meant to say THEORY. Even then you're stretching the idea, as most psych people (all the ones I've met and they say the same thing) will state that the personality is *you* and you can't change *you*. If something makes you angry, it makes you angry. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help reduce the visceral reaction (behavior) in response to the anger (cognition) but you're *still* gonna get angry. I agree with others. What's wrong with having preferences? Essentially you're saying that we shouldn't have preferences... period. Some people are unable, or unwilling, to change some things that you, or others, see as changeable. I can no more change the fact that I'm attracted more to men who are around my height or taller than me, than I can change the fact that I'm attracted to guys whose personalities gel with mine. I see no reason to be talked down to for having a preference, even if it creates a limit. If I can't submit to someone who's shorter than me... and I'm looking for someone to submit to... I'm going to instantly rule out everyone shorter than me. Just like if I were only attracted to black men, I would rule out any non black men as potential partners. I know some men who do *just* that on a basis of race. Why is it a problem? (also, as an aside, wandersalone I do have to compliment your new picture as well; that top is a gorgeous color for you)
