xxblushesxx -> glioblastoma (1/16/2009 9:46:46 PM)

It's the worst form of brain cancer there is.
Some nicknames for it are "the terminator" and "the great white shark"
People who have it can suffer terribly from pain, seizures, and other problems.
It sends "tentacles" through the brain, and there is no way (at this time) to stop it.
Dad had seizures, and lost some movement on his left side.
He had all kinds of other symptoms too, but luckilly, not alot of pain.
He passed away Monday evening.
I believe that it was caused by something he was exposed to in Vietnam, but there is no proof at this time.
There has never been any cancer in our family.
I am thankful that he did not suffer as much as some who have this disease suffer.
It still sucks though.

On a serious note:
I had a stepafather, whom had experienced the same....
Spent his last month in Hospice, jacked up in a morphine coma.....
They figured it was from the dental xrays he had (yes, several) from when he was a child till he was in his fifties.....

I know the anguish you feel...
not only for the loss of a loved one, but seeing other loved ones feeling the loss as well......
There are few words that can ease that pain away....
Sadly, I cannot think of any at the moment.....

All you can do is take the love he shared with you in his lifetime,.... and spread it to others for the remaining of yours.....

My heart and prayers go out to you.  My dad passed from cancer as well.  One part of you is relieved that their suffering is over and they are at peace.  The other part, your right, it still sucks.

Warm bright blessings

My father also passed away from cancer 7 years ago.  I am truly sorry for your loss. There will always be an empty place in this world that he will be missing from now, but you will carry his love and his memory in your heart forever.
