Thank you very much Knight Of Mists.  I truly appreciate that.  And i like your signature line about respect.   It also applies to this thread.

Your Welcome...

and as far as the signature line... there is indeed truth to it.... but no line will have all the wisdom or truth we need.  I personally have seen enough of the OP's posts and responses not to consider him in high regard in particular he is rather competent in finding rather abrasive ways to communicate...   So.. the question is... am I seeing him the way he is... or am I seeing only the way he presented himself on the boards to date.  The other question... do we ever know who a person is?    I can only know what he shows.. and we will all judge based on that.  I do think we sometimes to quick in our judgements and group think does indeed come to play.  I also think that sometimes.. we are right with the quick judgement and that it's not group think but shared points of view.  If one is so concerned about the judgement being too quick or group think... maybe instead of attacking these individuals.. maybe they can show a different point of view of the issue in question instead of attacking these quick judgements or group think.

My opinion still stands of the OP and only his behavior will change it.  As far as his opinions.... he is not very good at presenting them in a constructive manner and its up to him to learn to be better at it.

I said, "The slave not only has a right but a responsibility to choose who she is going to serve since that should be the last choice she makes"

Actually a very good point. I would like to widen it however and state that everyone bears responsibility in selecting their partners. Whether d/s or vanilla, we choose who to be with and if it goes badly then a certain amount of blame accrues to us for having chosen them in the first place.

I agree the OP seems abrasive and i get the feeling he enjoys the negative attention as he has only responded to posts that were negative and in a negative manner.  He's been asked several times for clarification and even though i've seen he's been viewing the thread the same time i have he has yet to respond to any positive, sincere questions.   This action speaks loudly in my book and paints a rather unpleasant picture of the OP.  Because you are right, we can only see what he chooses to show us or a potential.

If he continues to show his negative side, he shouldn't be surprised when he is dealt with negatively.  With that being said however, i have always believed that the actions of others should not justify our own.  In letting them do so, we let them have a portion of control over us and it reflects on us negatively.

I see your point about quick judgments and how they are sometimes group think and sometimes not.  Most people in this community have a great respect for consensuality.  That in itself is group think.  I personally view it as a posistive group think.
I think the group think that was being referred to was a negative group think.   Non of us like to be shown our shortcommings or our ugly side and when they are pointed in an aggressive attacking way instead of a constructive way we tend to become defensive.  I do the same thing, but after mulling it over in my head a day or two think, "they may have a point, perhaps i do come off as a bitch from time to time."   If we never recognize where we can improve, we won't.  The result of such being that we become as close minded as the OP.  The negative group think seems to enable the bad behavior.
For example. someone calls someone a bitch,  friends come in and say "no, you aren't a bitch!"  when in fact if they had been the one the person was talking about they would have thought she was being a bitch.  Since she is now resassured she isn't a bitch, it enables her to continue to act like one. Which reflects on her negatively to those that might end up being good friends or a potential partner.  See how she short changes herself?

I just had a thought!!!

You have to pay for property like a car....

so if you want a slave that is just property like a car or a house then you should probably pay for one like a car or a house so that you mean laying out between $65,000 - say $400,000 for a slave.

Amaros -> RE: Slaves with requirements... (1/31/2009 8:13:20 AM)

I think the key here is low vs. high maintainence, and it is true that "high maintainence slave" sounds like a bit of a contradiction in terms, but when it comes to requirements, I'd be shocked if you didn't have any.
