While finding a good massage therapist is critical, keep in mind that your neck and shoulders didn't get that way in just a few hours so it may take several trips to a therapist to get the best possible relief. My stress loves to throw a massive party complete with conga line in my neck and right shoulder and when it gets bad, it takes multiple trips to get full relief.

Also, YHMA, you need to look at the cause of the problem to find a solution. Going to a massage therapist is only a temporary fix if you don't address the underlying cause of the problem. Without fixing the real problem (pillows, positioning, stress, perhaps even the mattress itself) you'll have recurring problems.

Good luck.

That is EXACTLY, how I watch Tv. It's the only way I know how. Sitting up in bed isn't comfortable nor cozy, and we only have the bed in here.

Sometimes I do realize that my neck is craining, when I lay that way, but not usually.

How else do you recommend watching TV?

I went to a Chiro once, I went for what the doctor thought was sciatica, and  went many many times and each time he made me hurt worse for days and days after going, i dreaded going, plus he laid me out on my stomach and put the electroes and heat onto my back, and then left for like 25 minutes and didn't check back untill he was coming to work on you, and sometimes I was beginning not to be able to breath, cause I am to heavy to lay on my stomach flat to long.

Now I realize, not all Chiro's will be the same, I've just never considered one till recently, because of that experince.

What any therapist or doctor would advise is to not watch tv in bed.  Sometimes you just have to make adjustments in your life style that you don't like, and your body is protesting!

But if there is honestly no other place to watch tv, what about mounting the tv up near the ceiling like they do in hospitals?  They sell those mounting kits just about anywhere you buy tv's.  That way you can maybe prop yourself up with more pillows while you watch, once again, keep the head, neck and shoulders supported.

Just like there are good and bad doctors in every other specialty, there are good and bad chiros.  Give one a month, and if you don't like him, try another, till you find the right fit. If something is bothering you, tell him right away, don't just suffer in silence.  Putting electrodes and heat or ice on and walking away for 20 minutes is pretty much the norm.  They do treat other patients while those treatments are going on.  They rely on you to tell them immediately if you are uncomfortable in some way, they don't as a rule check on you every other minute.  They usually check back with you once or twice, though, and if you appear fidgety, they should check.  I'm the biggest skeptic in the world, trust me, but I got lucky with mine, he's wonderful.

Also, you'll get more personal attention in a larger chiropractic practice than with someone who just practices alone out of his house or small office.  Mine has three doctors and a whole slew of assistants and aides running around, and they check on me constantly.

Yup, I signed up for the well being package, where I come in once a month for a massage, then any I need between the massage I get a discount on:)

Our mattress is a pretty nice one it's also new ish, we've had it for like 4 months:)

I will look into different pillows, because it's not the first time they caused pain, just the first time it's lasted so long. Usualy when I get a neck ache, and that brings on a headache tension headache stuff works.

We can see the TV sitting up, it's just that comfortable, on the lower back, wise, to sit up. Maybe I can get Daddies big pillow chair thingie, and build a nest so sitting up is comfortable, on the lower back.

Since that's what I do when I need to sit up to do schoolwork on our   laptop.

He never checked back,  that's just it. I don't expect every minute or two come check on me, just once.
