I do my own reloading....

Besides, you never know, I might be attacked by a herd of insane republicans and need the big bore caliber.

I do my own reloading too and use a .30-30 only. Have my own defense loads as well. Never needed anything more since I left the service.

I'm actually more fond of the 410 that I inherited than I am of the 30-30 that's part of the collection.  Both of them shoot great, sights are dead on (no scope on either one, currently).  I can't even really explain to Myself why I like my 410 more than the 30-30 - and it may be something as subconscious sentimentality, since it was dad's, and he got it from his uncle when his uncle died.  (He left it for dad in his will - only nephew, so dad got all the good "toys.")

I need to get a reload set up.  We used to have one, during the years that dad was doing a lot of compitition shooting, and for some unknown reason he decided to get rid of it after he quit competeing regularly.  I could still kick him for that, every time I have to go pay the friggin prices for ammo because I'm planning on a couple of hours at the gun range with the .45.

I am kind of partial to a remington hiwall reproduction buffalo gun, but then I am an old fashioned sort....

Mine is an H&R buffalo gun. It can shoot blackpowder and real hot loads. I have other guns but I like that one best. I tried shooting deer thru bushes with a 12 ga to no avail. This one will chop down small trees.
