A 45!?!? Cool! Officer's or full sized? Hello A/all, First, I apologize to Lady Pact for my oversight. Second, The examples that I used were just what I could think up on the fly... so... If I offended any of you ladies who might have read my post and thought... 'Wait... I'm a guy?" I apologize (alot)! For the record: I don't follow spectator sports my self: I prefer to participate. There are times however where a friend will have the local pro or college game on the tube. I find that I can get as involved in the action as anybody. I suppose that there is something... what?.. cathartic? about being able to put a little passion behind an otherwise silly game. Perhaps it releases all of that agression. Hey! Why do we pay fully grown me to play children's games? I digress. Conditions permiting, I bath at least daily. I do, however have a favorite, roomy sweat shirt that I wear in the winter... Now in fact! I will relate one experience that leaves me puzzled. A friend of mine asked me for a favor not long ago. This favor involved blown down trees, one of which was hung up. The situation was rather complex and my friend had neither the tools or expertice to clear the problem safely. When my friend offered to pay me, I responded with an old running joke between us, "You don't have to pay me. I'll do it 'cause I'm a man and I can!" That's what he always said when he helped me with my car. Now here's the part that puzzles me... A lady standing next to us let out a loud and scornful, "Oh brother!" I felt compelled to ask here to edify me appropos of her comment. Did my remarks degrade her in any way? If so I apologized for any unintened slight ( I am apologizing a lot lately). Did she gain anything for "putting me in my place?" Was the comment Pavlovian in nature? I was polite if not downright pleasant. She even laughed at the reference to Pavlov. She could not explain her comment though. I suspect that up to that point, she never considered the question either. That's about the only first hand experience I have had with this phenomonon. Puzzled, Mike SnowRanger
