I`ve seen quite a few at Phish concerts and other jam band events.Even guys wearing frocks. And I know it`s not a cross gender or CD thing.People just wearing what they want.

I`ve also seen AMC hut staff wear them.But it could have been a Phish-head working for the AMC.The staff tends to be a college type crowd.

They told me they`re great for hiking the rugged trails in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

I also have friends who sport kilts.But I don`t think they`re thought of as skirts.And like there`s some women who shouldn`t wear belly shirts,there`s some men who shouldn`t wear a kilt.

The trouble is, us in the UK are kind of limited in getting Utilikilts, I mean there are suppliers,but only two that I know of, one in Camden Market in London, the other at a USAF base somewhere about in England. My best option would be Camden market next time a good friend takes me there,(us yokels get awestruck in London), assuming I have the cash and the supplier actually stocks the things and has more than a token gesture.

Does anyone know of any other sources of these things in the UK, or do they know if the shop in Camden does stock the kilts. according to the Psylo fashions websites, there is nothing listed except a load or dorky shorts and pants

I wear a Grand Kilt, the whole 9 yards.  Kilts are not skirts.  I find my kilt comfortable, it also prevent chaffing.  Depending on the weight and type of material, a kilt is warm in cold weather.  I am in California so I have a light weight wool mix, but a heavey wool 12 oz will keep you warm in snow.  I wear my kilt at Scotish Events and on National Tartan Day.  I would like to wear my kilt more but because of prejudice I do not.  There is a movement in the US Postal Service to have a kilt, like a utilikilt as opitional wear.

Anerin, I attempted to find another location.  But I didn't see one.  I did find a similar kilt called a Practikilt, which is a lot cheaper.  It's here:
http://www.museumreplicas.com/c-50-pants-tights-kilts.aspx

It's selling for $49 at the moment.

Edited to change link.  They offer a lot of different kilts similar to the utilikilt.  Scroll down when you get to the link.

Perhaps it is you do not see my sense of humour, I know kilts are not skirts.

Thanks for that, it is a good option to consider and at that price one can afford to get them a little messy, (no wise cracks you lot )

My buddys got full set-ups in Glasgow when their band toured there.

Mail order is fine, as long as I can source a UK supplier who is not doing the UK thing of hiking a price out of all proportion, something which is common here with specialist goods from America.

Though I do like the Utilikilt design, as it says nothing except it's a kilt, no clan colours or any bollocks like that. If I sought tartans, I would get a kilt down here with Cornish colours ;

I see plenty of men wearing kilts and sarongs and skirts at Burner events and private parties.   Some guys have the legs to carry the look well and others just look silly.  Many women start fantasizing about seeing just what kind of "package" is under the clothing and giggle about finding out by looking and touching up close and personal.  Give that man his ribbons and trophy!

My husband wore a men skirt (not a kilt) to our wedding. A classical grey three piece suit, just with a skirt instead of trousers.
