Amen fergus..romance is the art of the small gesture, the shared, the art of thinking of the other. we do crosswords together at night, very mundane, but I miss it so when it is not there. laying together in bed, like that, just talking and doing the puzzle, it is a very pleasant time, one I would not give up for the world, had i the choice.

How many of us are romantics at heart? Any others? Or am I the only one?

I will chime in on this one, but you have to promise to keep it between you and me... no one else can know. I am a hopeless romantic... nothing is more apealing to me than to romance and woo a woman. Having money to do it with would help, but that is when the true romantics show their stuff. It is not the huge, expensive gifts that say the most... it is the little items like opening a door for her, sending her a card to let her know you are thinking about her, telling her to go take a nice hot bath while you prepare dinner. A lot of the time those things are overlooked... but in romance, they are noticed.

OK... I have to go out and find someone to beat up now... I mean, I do have a reputation to keep up here. Maybe I will go kick my neighbor in the shins...

Remember... tell no one.

Actually I have a hair fettish and will admit
the beard and mustash and hair caught My

But Sadists can have a romantic side about
Them and alltho it is not what most would
call romantic by Their judgement it holds
as much value as any others opinion of
romantic interludes. My Munchies Group
does not only gather for BDSM and Gorean
interaction but is based as a Druming Circle
as well and meet in a Public State Park as
apposed to a Restaurant or Bar. I think that
says a lot about this Sadists romantic mindset.
Hell look at My Font!! Doesent it cry romantic?

I agree wholeheartedly. I was married to what many would call an extreme sadist...and yet, he was also very romantic. Just little things that he did for me that only I recognized as being soft ...not to mention that the one I am going to see now, is just as sadistic if not more so than my late husband was...and yet...he's got a romantic streak that I can see a mile away...got to love those sadistic bastards lol...they really are the best...

Mistress Dread, Thank you SO MUCH for the compliment! And don't let "switch" bother you too much ;) I am of the variety that can be totally sub to one .... and Dom/sub with another. ;)

At any rate, as many of us are saying over and over here ... it is about the attention of the small things that makes the difference.

I had last year a Male Switch who hadent a clue this was what he was
till He came to Me for training in Gorean slavery. Within 6 months I
brought out both his Dominant side and submissive side and taught
him how to control both for His benifit and then sent him on his way
when He tempted to Top this Alpha Dominant with words of Love that
were agreed apon pryor would not be spoken and with a * kiss* and a
wave he was on his way. LOL! ( such actions went against My hard limit
that were discussed befor Our contractual training and service. )
I dont let the word or personna Switch~ bother Me, however it is not
what I seek persay, as prefer Men who define in One way Their role n
personalities. But Im a Woman and as such can change
My Mind on a whim. ~wink~

I don't find romance in flowers and candy.
But I do in the written word. Poetry, odes, special things written, just for me. It doesn't get much better than that.
And the small gestures, that let me know that he was listening to what I was saying.

I think a walk in the woods in high autumn is romantic.

With the leaves falling around you? And the smell of the woods all around you? Extremely romantic.

Romance in a relationship is always nice, I know I love it and love being that way for my partner. Unfortunately though there are some who are not. Who has ever known a sadist to be romantic? That would be something to see.

shy

actually, the best dominant i've ever known, who was incredibly romantic and a soul mate and all around terrific man was a sadist. so it happens, oh yes.

LOL, since I have not had the pleasure of seeing Cape Cod in late fall, I will have to take your word for it. The closest I can come is hiking in the Cheyene Mountains during the fall. Absolutly beautiful.

Actually, for me it is not so much the foliage up there (for most it is) ... it is the sound of the sea ... the quiet streets of the off season ... the pensive feel of the coming winter. Almost in-between the frenetci energy of summer, and the feeling that winter is around the corner. YOu want to run for the joy of it and curl up asleep at the same time.

If anyone has a loved one to go with, I recommend a sleepy lil town called Marblehead.

I can understand. The mountains are the same way. Just the quiet rustle of the leaves, the scurry of animals curious about the invaders ( us lol ) , the feeling of being totally alone.

There is a place by the Smoky Mountains also, though it has been many years since I was over that way...we used to go there alot also.

Now, it's mostly up to the dunes in Indiana to get my fix lol. Though, I will admit, they are just as beautiful in fall as many other places.

Oh definitely! One of the things I really miss about my old house is the huge woods and creek behind it. You could walk on the trails back there for miles and truly get lost. It is breathtaking when the leaves change... for many different reasons. (I go on and on about this on my blog, but I'm not giving it out here. Sorry all, it has my full name on it. If you're curious, which I doubt, then e-mail me and I might give you the site.) I have a special spot in my heart for all the different seasons, but none more so than fall. It's a truly enchanting time.

Now that I think of it, I only live a couple of miles away from those woods. Hmm... I might have to do some sneaking through someone's backyard.
