WASHINGTON — The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.

He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”

I'm not judging anyone by the temperature they keep their work environment. I keep my office nice and toasty warm too and I like it in the winter months!

Besides, its not like he went off and started a war to settle a family grievance and 'Americanize' a Muslim nation, and in the process caused the deaths of thousands of US soldiers, and then funneled billions of taxpayer money into the war-torn country to be stolen by local officials fleeing the region... Its just way too early in his presidency for that kind of lunacy.

This surely isn't a legitimate complaint, is it?

You are being ridiculous, CW.  We have ice storms throughout the Mid-West and the East Coast and you are upset because the President keeps his work area warm in the middle of winter?

That means he'll use less A/C in the summer.

That was my dog's response when I read him the OP.

Well, I guess you could tell the President you think he should turn down his thermostat yourself...

How to write a letter to the President of the United States from ehow.com:

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Use your correct mailing address if you hope to get a response.

Use the appropriate postage

Maybe you can knit him a few sweaters since this has you in "in a bit of a tizzy".

I hear knitting has a very calming influence on Republicans.

Seriously?  Dude, it's been very cold here in the East - I keep my home thermostat on 70/72 when I'm home and not sleeping.  You're in LA ... when it gets below 30 there, let us know how you're coping.

I have concerns about the new administration, but the temp in the Oval Office isn't one of 'em ...

Elect me.........my house is usually around 62 at night and 65 during the day, in the winter.

That's my platform for presidential electibility. A house you could "hang meat" in.

I'm gonna break in here with something that's off topic, and may not belong here to begin with. But here goes:

I am genuinely, geniunely surprised to find that there are conservative kinksters out there. Honestly surprised. Why, you say? Politics have nothing to do with kink, you say? Well, they don't - except where they do.

I guess I just have a hard time getting my head around the fact that someone who would throw in with the conservative crowd of anti-gay, anti-this, anti-that would also have no qualms with kinky and often judged as immoral, sick, and dangerous sorts of sex that kinksters tend to have. Seems a mighty contridiction to me, even as I know human beings are nothing if not walking balls of contridictions.

Anyhow, questioning over. Back OT:

Wow, the scandal of the century. I have some rumors. He also wasted dental floss, leaves the water running when he takes a piss sometimes and has been known to leave the mayonaisse out on the table.

I'll bet the SOB even opens the window when he smokes in a car, causing wind resistance and wasting heat or AC doing so. The fucker probably even falls asleep with a plasma TV running from time to time. You know how much power those things eat ? Hell you could almost toast a piece of bread with the power that about three of those things consume !

I bet if we really checked into this we could find alot more. Wasting leftovers, leaving the car running, and if he's like half of the well off people I know I bet he only smokes a half a cigarette and doesn't save the other half for later. I'll bet he even might leave his blueberry on charge for too long. (maybe) He probably leaves all the damn lights on at the Whitehouse as well.

Off with his head !

He's telling US that we need to sacrifice and keep our t-stats down below 72 in the winter but yet here he is keeping his up around 80?

Elitist "Do as I say and not as I do" types will always be human spittoons, as well they should be. He's killing off Detroit in the name of "Global Warming" but the man can't be bothered to borrow a sweater from Jimmy Carter?

BULL SHIT.

Sent in a message earlier but felt important enough to share here. About conservatives and kink...the "conservative" party of late isn't really conservative at all...there's a reason for the term "neo-con".
REAL conservative politics is about conservative government - ie, smaller government; less spending; being more fiscally responsible.
I believe for instance, that governments shouldn't be involved in what people do in their bedrooms, and should stay out of marriage - That's a *real* conservative viewpoint.
