Probably best to have someone there to look after you while you are in it and help you get out when you need to.

But just exactly how would you get yourself secured into it without someone to help? And wouldn't that person kinda-sorta want to stick around, you know, just in case???

Actually there are some models that are designed for the person to put themselves into or have someone else strap them down. From all i have heard, it is MUCH easier to get yourself into one than to get out of it by yourself. That was a while ago and some of the newer models out there might be easier. But it is still a good idea to have a "spotter" especially if you might go all sub-spacey and forget to drink or overheat or something.

When I sleep, I tend to sleep chrysalis fashion, not so much rolling around, but no coming up for air either.
