Bush is a liar, therefor it's okay if Obama lies.  Thank you for clearing that up for me.

Clinton is the uberliar, so anything Bush lied about should be excused.

kittinSol -> RE: Another Obama nominee Tax Evader bites the dust... (2/3/2009 8:55:27 AM)

It's precisely because Obama hasn't lied that you are able to cream your pants with these current scandals.

You liberals are forgiving sorts, for your own.

"You conservatives" are forgiving sorts, for your own. What a useful thing to say, aye? I understand your frustration though: after eight years of horrible lies at the hands of Bush, you now understand how it felt, for us [8|] . Enjoy the ride: it's going to be a real whirly gig.

See...that's the major problem. It really shouldn't be an us and them mentality. It should be a we mentality. The people should be united. I was frustrated under Bush. I'm already frustrated under Obama. I think all politicians suck and I think that all politicians don't have to commom good of the people as their motivation. I place them all on the same low level. Too bad more people don't. So says the pretty girl bending over.

I'm not one of "you conservatives" (I have the ACLU, NCSF cards to prove it!) but damn, in my wildest expectations of amusement I couldn't imagine this many occasions to point to hypocrisy after only two weeks! I don't know how it feels because I've never defended hypocrisy - how DOES it feel?

For four years at least - this will be entertaining, even if from a distance.

kittinSol -> RE: Another Obama nominee Tax Evader bites the dust... (2/3/2009 8:58:30 AM)

Fair enough; that's understandable, especially today with all the shit that's going on. But lets' remember this: this is the most bipartisan administration in how many years? My local (Republican) senator, Gregg, is joining Obama's administration as commerce secretary. The kind of ultra divisive childishness doesn't help, you're 100% correct.

A good "manager" would make sure any potential appointee didn't have any tax issues, didn't hire any illegal aliens, didn't have any criminal record, didn't have any charges "pending", had a good credit history, and had a clean background *BEFORE* proposing them for a position in the Administration.
I mean how difficult is that for them to understand?
Remember "Zoe Baird?"

The vetting process by Obama's people is obviously broken for this to happen three times, and I somewhat suspect it surrounds his inner circle people who are too cocksure and are riding the Bush disaster wave a little too high. They have taken on a "who cares" approach, such that mistakes that result in nomination of criminals are still deemd a lesser sin than Bush in their eyes.

Nosathro -> RE: Another Obama nominee Tax Evader bites the dust... (2/3/2009 9:06:05 AM)

The Vice President, has stated that it is time for everyone to pay their fair share of taxes.  Looks like many of Obama nominee did not get that memo.  Also I find it interesting that one of the Presidents requirements for his nominee is not to have any releationship with the area that they are to over see, such as Health and Education, however Obama now has been handing out wavier on that condition to his nominee like candy.

MasterShake69 -> RE: Another Obama nominee Tax Evader bites the dust... (2/3/2009 9:07:58 AM)

Maddow would because shes a true believer in the lefts cause but not Keith.   Unless its done to support another Democrat.  Thats why Keith took such a long time to attack Hillary Clinton during the primary.

Obviously, corysub, you don't watch Olberman or Maddow, or you'd know that, although their politics lean leftward, they skewer deserving Democrats as well as Republicans. The right-wing talk jocks Hannity, O'Reilly and Limbaugh are TOTALLY one-sided. They completely ignore even the most egregious wrongdoing by Republicans, and if there aren't any real issues to attack Democrats on, they make some up.

MasterShake69 -> RE: Another Obama nominee Tax Evader bites the dust... (2/3/2009 9:14:29 AM)

Just change the words Obama Administration with Bush administration to see how different democrats react.

Yup, three major posts given to republicans.

Do we want the perfect to be the enemy of the good?

MasterShake69 -> RE: Another Obama nominee Tax Evader bites the dust... (2/3/2009 9:28:38 AM)

So at what point does Obama take responsibility?  You can blame others around Obama for only so long.  When does the situation get to the point where Obama chews out his inner circle so they start doing their job correctly?  Unless Obama doesn't really care about any of this?

CNN.com - Lott apologizes for Thurmond comment - Dec. 10, 2002

Lott, R-Mississippi, made the comment Thursday on Capitol Hill during a 100th birthday celebration for Thurmond, who is retiring next month after nearly 48 years in the Senate. The comment was broadcast live on C-SPAN. "I want to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either," Lott said at last week's party.

Thurmond ran as the presidential nominee of the breakaway Dixiecrat Party in the 1948 presidential race against Democrat Harry Truman and Republican Thomas Dewey. He carried Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and his home state of South Carolina, of which he was governor at the time.

During the campaign, he said, "All the laws of Washington and all the bayonets of the Army cannot force the Negro into our homes, our schools, our churches."

Thurmond's party ran under a platform that declared in part, "We stand for the segregation of the races and the racial integrity of each race."

yea you are right , Truth and ethics , when applied to a democrat would take way to much time, and would be an exercise in mental masturbation., as we know that most democrats are devoid of both.

to cory dont forget clintoon n the mark rich TAX EVASION issue, and how the nominated AG was all for this pardon.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Tell me.  Where do you think that falls on the scale compared to Bush commuting Scooter Libby's sentence, after he was convicted, by due process, of engaging in an act of treason?

MasterShake69 -> RE: Another Obama nominee Tax Evader bites the dust... (2/3/2009 9:58:54 AM)

Why wasnt Richard armitage ever charged???  He was the original sorce but since he was against the war no charges againt him.

The book I co-wrote with Michael Isikoff, Hubris: The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War, has set off a dispute between conservative columnist Bob Novak and former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage. The book--which recounts the behind-the-scenes battles that went on within the CIA, the State Department, Congress and the White House over the administration's case for war before and after the Iraq invasion--discloses that Armitage was the original source for the Novak column of July 14, 2003, which outed Valerie Plame Wilson as a CIA "operative on weapons of mass destruction." (The book also reveals that Valerie Wilson was operations chief for the clandestine Joint Task Force on Iraq and oversaw espionage operations aimed at gathering intelligence on Saddam Hussein's supposed WMDs.) Following the book's release, Armitage publicly confessed and apologized to Valerie Wilson and her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson. He said that the leak had been an inadvertent slip, an act of gossip that came during an interview with Novak about Colin Powell and the State Department. Armitage claimed he had merely told Novak--in an off-the-cuff fashion--"I think his wife works out there," meaning the CIA.

So why was "scooter" charged/investigated and pardoned? For littering?

There were multiple leaks, all from the white house.

Treason.

Yeah, cause we all only imagined the repeated cries for Bush to be punished as a war criminal, etc. :p

That move basicly is about putting another Democrat into that senate seat, theoretically making the Senate filibuster proof.

kittinSol -> RE: Another Obama nominee Tax Evader bites the dust... (2/3/2009 10:35:03 AM)

You are wrong: Gregg accepted the job on condition that a Republican would replace him for the remainder of his tenure as senator. Governor Lynch appointed a Republican (forgotten her name, but it's a chick. Booh!) Then, it's up to the electorate. Surely even you wouldn't argue with that? Please try to keep up.

Oh, and Daschle just resigned; Killifer didn't take the job: something less for our concerned conservatives to be worried about, n'est ce pas?

You are going to compare tax evasion to a guy who made a comment at the Strom Thurmond's birthday party!  Is that all it takes these days to get someone knickers in a bunch...Any facts to support that Trent Lott actually was a racist?  If you are going to judge every southerner for actions over the years since reconstruction we might as well seperate out into the gray and blue again.  Seems democrats harp on every word uttered by a republican, demand death, firing, or dismemberment, and yet look the other way and honor people like Sen. Robert Byrd, a former leader in the KKK, or a Jessie Jackson who refered to NYC as "Himmie Town".  If you want to pick on a racist party...look to the democrats who had a Governor stand in the door to block little children from entering a school because of their color, or a democrat Congress that fought the Civil Rights Act of 1964!  Sorry...I don't by todays thinly guised hatred for Bush, for republican, for anyone to the right of Barney Frank as a reason for concern over racism.  Not these days, and not after white people elected a black president.  I think the Obama is a 100% threat to the economic health and safety of our country...but that opinion is based on his radical life history...not the color of his black father. And I sure as hell don't like him 50% because he is half white!...his color is a "distraction" used by liberals.
