ORIGINAL: mefisto69 I take these problems as major fuck ups on the part of his staff. They pick the Best viable candidates but don't vet them deeply enough. Seems like an oxymoron to me..."the pick the Best viable candidates but don't vet them deeply enough"!! Isn't the purpose of "vetting" to enable the President to pick nominee's for hight office and not have to worry about skeletons in their closet. My serious concern here is that "vetting" is an intelligence like operation, gathering pertinent data on an individual, running it through the mixer, and making sure it comes out clean on the other side. Mr. Panetta, the new CIA "Intelligence Head" also headed the team of people vetting candidates. Do we have to be concerned about his lack of in-depth understanding and analysis of American politicians, much less understanding and questioning the reports he will be getting everyday from the heads of desks? Or maybe he is not there to build the C.I.A. but to demolish the enterprise as Jimmy Carter and his Admiral did in the 1970's. It's been two weeks since the first oath of office was taken by Obama, and the public seems to be having some second doubts already with his popularity sliding quickly...and his "honeymoon" possibly not lasting too many moons! "The Public" meaning you, Sanity, Rush, Hannity, Obama, Drudge, and the freaks who write the Little Green Footballs blog?okey-doke. You know, I read enough partisan trash on Bondage.com. Bush never, ever made a mistake, and Obama has already caused the destruction of Civilization as we know it. I've been a Centrist for a good part of my adult life, and have, in the past, voted for the person I thought would do the best job. But since that paragon of family values Gingrich and his gang stifled all opposition opinion on the Hill, to the extent of not even allowing Dems into supposedly "bipartisan" meetings (I could find an interview with a Senator who was actually there, and knows what arrogant party hacks the Repubs were(when Dems were not allowed a voice in Congress, the Repubs effectively disenfranchised all the citizens who didn't vote for them), but you wouldn't listen to it, and if you did, you wouldn't believe it because it's against your ideology, whatever that is). If I'm a Partisan now, it's because I have become completely disgusted with the blind, uncritical obeisance to the party that the radical right displays. In the USSR, everyone went along with, or even joined the party, because it was the only way to play the game. In Hitler's Germany and in Right-wing America, the party was/is supported enthusiatically. I have not read a single criticism of Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney, or any of the Bushevik gang by any Radical Rightist. The only concession to reality I've heard goes something like "well, maybe Iraq was a mistake BUT Saddam had WMDs so..." I'm thoroughly disgusted, sickened, by the incessent whine-drone-dirge from the Right about such trivial shit as "Obama didn't wear a flag pin! He's a Socialist commie anti-American terrorist-loving traitor!" It's hateful, divisive, damn near always untrue, and I'm fucking fed up. Maybe other people want to read the drivel that issues forth from you and Sanity and ColdWarrior and MissSepphora and the rest, but I'm not wasting my time anymore. I've tried to find something redeeming in all the negative vomitus righties spew forth, but I can't, and it's not possible to hold a rational conversation Pity I can't say what I really think. Off to Ignoreland you go.
