Ok, so the CEO of this outfit goes in front of Congress and takes the Fifth.  They have some mighty incriminating looking emails from him (he even used "$$$$$$$" as a word...).

Who's with me in thinking that the death penalty getting laid on the table in a DA conference would send one hell of a strong signal to the corporate jet set?  This asshole KNEW he was shipping product that could kill!

Yup, and he is taking the 5th on advice of his legal counsel.  I am hoping his passport is seized so he cannot leave the U.S. and that he goes under house arrest with an ankle tracking device at the least.

Ah, yes, Stewie Parnell, poster boy for Rightie Capitalism.

"Have a peanut, Mr. Parnell?"
"Are you fucking NUTS?"
"Do you know that testimony was given earlier?"
"I take the Fifth about everything. Fuck you, Congress."

Now there are rats in Mr. Peanut's Capitalist Nirvana!
"Just when you thought the peanut butter fiasco couldn't go further: In addition to their salmonella-tainted plant in Georgia, the Peanut Corporation of America appears to have another dangerously substandard plant in Texas. After discovering "dead rodents, rodent excrement and bird feathers in the plant," Texas' department of health issued a recall on every product ever to cross paths with Peanut Corp's shipping plant in Plainview, TX. CNN's call to their go-to Peanut Corp contact revealed a phone number "no longer in service," a phrase destined to repeat at least a few more times as the legume giant's legacy crumbles." http://www.thedailybeast.com/iphone/

Oh, no, we don't need no stinking inspections! We Republican Capitalists can police ourselves, TYVM. BTW, sorry we killed your grandmother. Business is tough. That's one of the costs. Besides, if it wasn't us, it would be Chinese melamine in your kids' milk. be thankful it was American Republican murderers. If it was the Chinese, you'd only hear about it on one of them Commie Leebril news channels like CNN. They hate Amerikka. Not like Drudge.

One difference between conservatives and liberals.

Liberals want good sound regulation ,oversight and prevention as the main check on bad faith businesses.

Conservatives don`t want the heavy hand of gov. burdening businesses with regulation/inspections/oversight/rules etc. and spend half their time fighting those things.

Which leaves the public with law suites(of course after someone dies or gets injured)as the primary check against bad faith players.

Considering that conservatives spend the other half of their energy trying to limit our right to sue,it`s obvious that they are bad faith players themselves.

If the UM had died,it wouldn`t be such a light hearted piece, now would it cory?

It`s possible that the "market" would "correct it`s self" after a real tragidy,....a real lose of life,.....just possible.

So obviously there`s no need for entrepreneur crushing/business killing regulations ,when the "market" corrects it`s self.....

Eat up folks, the "market" will protect you.*

* market protection-people avoiding foods that has already killed or injured someone.

Capitolism at it's finest. Greed greed greed.

When the people in power have a concious and do the right thing for everyone, it's a wonderful thing. When the people in power are sociopathic, narcisistic, greedy bastards, you have shit like this.

Thank God the GOP fought so hard to take the money out of the Stim Bill so the FDA cannot upgrade it computers or hire more inspectors.

let's see in the last year we had spinach, tomatoes, and peanut butter kill people and yet the GOP argues the FDA does not need more money for new computers or more inspectors. Because it's wasteful spending, and God knows we did not have any of that in the last 8 years
