Actually, interesting that you mention the legalization of marijuana....did you know that the reason marijuana became illegal in the first place was in large part because of a rich capitalist protecting his business interests? It's the truth..and if anyone likes I will gladly spin that tale for all to hear

Once again, Cory, you seem unable to discuss any topic without mentioning the Bill Clinton got a blowjob. I am begning to think that not only do you get a royalty for it, it is the source of the wealth that allows you to think that aiming all our governmental policy at the top 10% of wealth holders in this country is a good idea.

Hell....if that's true, Clinton has actually created jobs with his blowjob....the only job a republican created from a blowjob was the guy who mopped up the stall after the republican in question was hauled away for cruising an undercover cop.

It is an obsession. I think these guys can't think beyond the Clinton Administration. Can't blame them, peace, prosperity and all that, hard to not fondly reminisce.

True enough, Aynne.....personally I think that any president who turns a deficit into a surplus, keeps us out of war and doesn't have any major buildings blown into a little hole in the ground by foreign terrorists DESERVES a good bj....Hell...if we can get another president who could do that I would GIVE him a good bj. :

Btw...on a personal note..anyone who quotes Kurt V on their signature is OK by me.

That he's taking Bush, Cheany and the rest of the pack of malignant weasels to court to try them for war crimes. That hebeas corpus is restored, and that the government has no business in tapping everyone's phones. PATRIOT II is going to be struck down, and America will be getting back to being America again shortly, instead of being the U.S.S.A. (United Soviet States of America)

Yes and posse comitatus should be restored as originally intended plus we could tax the grass too and put labor back to work growing and harvesting it. After all and not surprisingly...Americans/Canadians now grow the best pot.

How about a grand jury on 9/11 ? Bin Laden has never been charged for that crime..."we simply don't have the evidence" FBI. Let's find out if the Pakistani intelligence did finance this knowingly or not through their corrupt military.

Per the 9/11 commission report there was a $100,000 wired from a colonel in the Pakistani ISI to a suspected 9/11 conspirator in Florida but not surprisingly...didn't pursue it.

Well..now the democrats ARE in charge...your party has the reins of power and the strings to the purse.  What do you see that this fellow Obama is doing that is so different than any other big spending liberal politician.  The guy is a tyro, a man over his head as an executive and leader. The most important legislation he will ever sign he turns over to a woman who represents only about 135,000 people who voted for her in 2008!  Did you, and all the other people who joined the Obama concert tour belive that "Change" was a vote for Pelosi?  Do you feel betrayed?   You can always stop over for a cup of hot tea and cry on my shoulder.  You expected so much, I know...sighs

Tonight we are going to hear another oratorical delight, delivered in a cadence and tone that will probably bring Chris Matthews to tears...with just the right amount of caveats to mitigate the backlash from a failed spending bill instead of a stimulus bill...promise of hope and a "renewal' of America...looking at the most transparent government in the history of the world, like putting a glass bottom on the Titanic so we can all see the bottom coming up at us...A "Change" in the country that is underway to take us iin a wonderful new direction of......mediocrity based on the reward forlack of effort by the least productive among us.

The applause will be deafening...the number of "standing ovations" an olympic record.  My only surprise probably will be what poor citizen he trots out and sits next to Michelle to be given 30 seconds of fame, use, and than discarded.

Enjoy the evening...

Oh..by the way,  Obama is putting his election winning ploy to remove the troops out of Iraq back on the Bush schedule.  George Bush is starting to be like a lot of fathers that sons have and see just how smart dad was as they get older.  The obama kids are growing up...and could just be the next generation of neocons...as so many become when they grow up and become adult. Rachael Maldow is "pissed"..to say the least.   tsk tsk

That's an interesting comment.  How was Posse Comitatus originally intended...I didn't know we were using troops as local police enforcement agents?  That's really a wonderful thing, in my opinion, if true.

That no US federal military forces be allowed to conduct or assist in local law enforcement. That means also that federal forces could not be deputized as members of local law enforcement.

First during the LA riots, it was considered that declaring martial law may have been necessary yet at the time the US military could not be deputized. Martial law was never declared.

However, during the aftermath of Katrina in NO, modifications in posse comitatus gave the power that allowed the national guard or Army upon the direction of the POUS, to be deputized and they were. As a result if you look it up, the US military was going house to house and seizing all firearms.

To me, this is clearly unconstitutional and should be now removed from law.

I agree with this.  There is NO reason why this drug should be illegal.

They can't legalize pot because it would cut into Big Pharmacy's profit.

Nonsense.  It would open up very lucrative new possibilities for them.  Lots of interesting chemistry to legally play with.  Sick people who don't already indulge aren't going to want to spark a joint to ease nausea, but an inhaler can be prescribed.  Especially if they can isolate the compounds that work, without the psychoactive effects.

What has to be overcome is 80 odd years of a failed social policy.  The war on drugs has done more harm to our society than stoners ever could have.

The war on drugs is supposed to go on forever as it is like most wars...a war for profit.

Actually, it was my understanding that corp. tobacco would have us up and running in weeks and they have many trademarks already. (RJR = 'Acapulco Old Gold') I also understand also that untaxed at the production level we could eliminate tobacco subsidies. Imagine of you will, tobacco farmers are such great worshipers of something called a 'free market' that even with an average profit of $4,000/acre, they need federal subsidies ??
