I rarely if ever look at profiles, being that fantasy, fable, and 'best foot' forward tend to obscure such.

It just so happens that most whom I connect with on some level here in the forums, live far, far, away.

Life at this point simply prevents a realistic relationship beyond my pretty little picket white fence.

I do find a satisfaction of needs to a fair degree out here in the 'feels just like real flesh' domain.

If I can't have it all, I won't deny myself a dip in the drool as I skip down that long and winding road.

Sometimes, unavailability leads to invisibility here in the collarme hive. I'm not, therefore I am not.

I live, I learn, I try to keep it real, all whilst finding the lighter and laughter filled side of that which is collarme.

Remembering as I go, that sometimes, I don't give a shit who has done shit if it makes them a shithead in the end.

I think that most of us, Dominants and submissives alike, want to believe the best of people, and on the whole, I think that most people are honest.  I think it's just a few bad apples that throw out profiles designed to do nothing, but reel in victims of whatever scam it is they are running.  Of course, I'm of the opinion that only one percent of the CM population actually takes the time to read a profile. Most of them only look at the pretty pictures and that's what they base their responses on. Given that fact, is it any wonder the fakes, and trolls have a field day?

You say that but is it true? I watched Beverly hills cop 1 through 3 and in none of them did anyone shoot or kill that annoying Eddie Murphy.

Have you written to Eddie Murphy with regard to this inconvenience......

Dear Eddie,

I watch your films with the express purpose of watching you die. I hate you.

Yours,
Disapprovingly.

P.S. Dan Akroyd should have buried you alive in Trading Places. Are you making a sequel? Can you make my dream come true?

I tend to only contact people who post because it tends to be rather clear who has actually done shit and who is full of it.

I'm pretty much going with this, too.

Wow, things sound really bad over there.  Hey, maybe they'll come up with a vaccination for it someday.

For women? You're trying to make me immune to women? Who'll fetch my beer and cheese, then?

I assume that all info given me is false until it can be shown otherwise.

Wow, this would feel like a really depressing way to go through life for me. I tend to take peoples' word on the most stuff, until I'm proven otherwise. Then again, I don't ask most of my friends for their life history, either. Perhaps it makes a difference, for me, that I'm not looking for romance, love at first sight, or an instant 'relationship'. Acquaintances and opportunities to talk over coffee is more than enough for me -- if something more comes of it, there'll be plenty of time to worry about whether the person is as skilled in tea service or sitting still for a play-piercing or cutting as xhe thinks xhe is.

I probably work too slowly for most people, but that isn't going to change, so I guess what I'm saying is that if someone seems generally decent, I'll give them my -time-, and -that- will determine what else they'll be to me other than a acquaintance. If they end up telling me an insurmountable lie down the road, well, you have to be willing to risk something in order to get anything, so I'll take a few risks every now and then.

Ummmm....I was talking about online, specifically online dating sites just like this one.
Flesh goes by different standards and are welcome fully into my life.
Sorry Windchymes...how could I forget about you.

Thirded...err...fourthed...ummm... whatever number we are on. [:D]

I've met lots of people from the boards, and found them to be pretty much the same IRL as they are here. Still searching, but I've made some awesome friends and had a great time with the folks I've met so far, esp my 2 favourite "bad influences" in LA. [:)]

Knite064 -> RE: Believability (2/8/2009 5:23:52 PM)

Being relatively new to the site i do look at alot of profiles and i guess sub conciously im comparing the viewpoint in the post as to how they are potrayed in profile.
It all comes back to taking things at face value but if i were to meet someone face to face id either feel a trust or not at that point.

Just hold it in your lap.  That should keep it cold.

BondageBarbieX -> RE: Believability (2/8/2009 10:24:50 PM)

Blank profiles and ones with out photos are red flags for me.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Believability (2/8/2009 11:44:27 PM)

Depends on the profile.  Over time you get to know what's good stuff and what isn't, and who is honestly portraying who they believe themselves to be but actually clueless about their reality.
