Jeez, I still have to do laundry (tomorrow night)!

CalifChick -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/7/2009 8:31:58 PM)

Dateline:  Phoenix airport, terminal 3, gate 25.  Waiting patiently for our flight which leaves in two hours.

Moga will report that I have walked her into walls (she was pushing her wheelchair), ran her into poles (while she was sitting in her wheelchair), caused a ruckus at the TSA station (she had that "special" screening since she is wearing the cast-boot-thingy on her foot)... but it is all LIES!  LIES I TELL YOU!

I am a fabulous traveling companion.  Truly I am.  [:)]

Cali-

I will be arriving by car. Message me if there is anything of a household nature I can bring for you.

Also, is a dungeon evening planned? Master needs to know...... He is still deciding my parameters.

Please, everyone- tell Him I will be safe and well watched after! After all, I will have the subby mafia for protection!!!

And, Cali, do I have a surprise for you, Birthday Girl!

GreedyTop -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/7/2009 10:45:51 PM)

I'd be happy to be your.. escort.. for a dungeon evening, Hejira (since my parameters are already set... viewing only, no participation..)

wandersalone -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 1:56:22 AM)

You guys are going to have so much fun together

Damn I wonder though if it is too late to send MoGa some pillows to strap to her head and body to protect her from Cali's willful endangerment of her [:D]

CalifChick -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 2:05:15 PM)

We're in Ft Myers Beach, in one piece. Mostly.  I think.

I was going to update from Detroit, but they wanted me to pay for the connection and I figured, I love you guys, but not $10 worth of love just to say we're sitting in Detroit and I walked 30-some gates to find coffee, and after buying coffee, had to take the elevated tram back to our gate.  Sheesh.

Then there was the compendium of brilliance when we couldn't figure out how to start the rental minivan.  Seriously.  And when the lot guy told us how, it was still, "seriously?????"

As far as the room, it's quaint.  There are lots of stairs.  You know when MoGa is coming... thunk step... thunk step... thunk step.

As far as kitchenware... it's very basic.  There are plenty of plates, cups, etc.  Some old frying pans and spatulas.  There is a drip coffee maker, a toaster, and a teakettle.  Stove and oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave.

There are no baking pans.  No mixers, blenders, etc.  There is a pizza pan that could double as a baking sheet if we needed something like that.

There are BBQ grills.

So a 9x12 baking pan or something similiar would be great if someone could bring that.

Hejira, get with Tulip on dungeon questions.  She is handling everything.

Cali

I'm not known as a cook, but I'll scrounge some bakeware....and I do have an old blender (warning - it was probably a wedding present circa 1987)

I was reading reviews of the place this morning and man, things were wicked with the old management.  From what I could see the new folks are a big change for the better.

* wondering how long it'll take to look like a lobstah *

thornhappy -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 6:57:42 PM)

Oh yeah, if you're ever so fond of air travel nowadays...check out a post from one of my favorite bloggers: www.stonekettle.com/2009/07/things-that-chap-my-ass-about-air.html

I'm a frequent flyer and sometimes can be seen at the security gates with steam coming out of my ears.

And check out the dude's woodwork!  Amazing stuff!

lusciouslips19 -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 7:35:09 PM)

Hope I can sleep tonight! My flight leaves at 10 A.M. Leaving the house at 7.

thornhappy -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 7:56:04 PM)

Hey, we're leaving at the same time!  Did you check in already?

(but iz be 15 minutes from the airport)

KneelforAnne -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 9:03:06 PM)

I think mdr and I are going to car pool... Yay for saving $$!

Do I need to bring beach chairs and such? Beach towels?
Pillows? Blankets? Air mattress?
Snackage? Drinks?

I have a 1/2 a sheet cake pan if you need me to bring it. It isn't in the best shape, but it works.

I'm still wondering what to wear to the dungeon... like, I have pretty stuff to wear UNDER something, but it's what to wear OVER it that's killing me!

I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so excited!

LadyHibiscus -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 9:33:22 PM)

The hotel does have beach towels and various paraphenalia,but hey, you are coming in a CAR, if it looks good bring it!

thornhappy -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 10:02:00 PM)

Yah! The more goodies the better!

I'm an ice fiend, be prepared fer me to buy a bag or two!

girlygurl -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 10:37:27 PM)

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Glad you're there Cali.

CalifChick -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 10:39:19 PM)

The hotel has an ice machine.  Our fridge also has an icemaker.

GreedyTop -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 10:52:40 PM)

Cali...I'm thinking about driving down so that nobody will have to get up at some obscene hour to get me to work on time...   the radiator issue seem to have resolved itself, and I can run at 60-65mph (it's the bit between 28-34mph that the car has issues with).  Also, I do have roadside assistance through my ins. co., just in case..LOL

Ok, I'll dig out my hand blender, and I have a flat baking sheet I can bring.  WHat about mixing bowls?  measuring spoons? I have a percolator coffee pot, if anyone would like to use it (I know on the RARE occasions I drink coffee, I actually prefer percolated).

Cant wait to see everyone!

CalifChick -> RE: The Calibirthday 2009 (7/8/2009 11:10:31 PM)

Coffee is lushy's domain... I'm not even touching it!  MoGa did make a pot in the drip coffeemaker, but I felt like we were going to get in trouble with lushy, and she isn't even here yet!

There is a set of measuring spoons and measuring cups and on large bowl.  If you want to hang anything up, bring some hangers.

Cali
