I have packed the following:

Clothes, shoes, lingerie, and *cough* fun stuff
Air mattress and sheet/ blanket and 2 pillows
Beach bag with sunscreen, hat, two towels and a sheet to sit on at the beach. (Should I bring a small cooler too?)
Various impliments for getting ready, including a hair dryer and curling iron
Three coffee cups
Baking sheet
Oven mitts
If mdr has room in his car I will bring two folding beach chairs.

If the fixit person gets here today to take care of my A/C (please pray for me and my little dog, too!) I will bake some yummy brownies or cookies this evening.

YAY!!!!!!

I've got room in my car if mdr doesnt.. and I'm not terribly far from Dunedin...  so if ya need extra space, let me know.  depending on when ya'll are leaving, maybe we could caravan down?

That would be perfect! Mdr is going to call me later today to set up a more concrete time for tomorrow morning. Is that when you are leaving? He was going to leave between 9 and 10, come and pick me up on the way, probably between 10 and 11:30 ish-- we were going to get a quick brunch/lunch here and then on the way!

Yah, that would totally work for me, and I don't think he would mind at all.... Does he have your number? I'll send you mine in c-mail so we can iron stuff out!

My car holds a pretty good amount of stuff, surprises me sometimes, and with no passengers in the back seat, there's that room too. I suddenly feel like I may be under packed. Still have that to do.

But I got off the phone with Anne a while ago, I was planning on leaving here at 9:30ish in the morning, 10ish at the latest. About an hour to get to Sarasota, then lunch and some conversation before the rest of the journey down to Ft Myers Beach. Allowing myself some "lost" time... in case I need to make a few wrong turns. I was gonna take 19 south, over the Skyway bridge to 75 south.

I'm not really going by a strict schedule.

I'll be online, off and on, till 9pm tonight, then computer goes off... So let me know before too late. Watching me some Burn Notice and Royal Pains, then bed.

Picked up BP and he said that yes we aer coming. Not sure when we are leaving, but will be there for the Sat festivities.

The motel here has coolers for use, no charge.  Also beach towels and a few folding beach chairs.

Awww I'm glad you aren't. I would hate it if you were. I hope that I may have the honor of dancing with you again. Of course that would be up to your wonderful owners *Is so glad I know them both personally* lol But I never assume anything *s*

So okay.  I am a native of Florida summers.  Palmetto bugs do not concern me.   Creatures of the night, no big deal.  No longer. Tonight, a moth the size of a *pterodactyl* flew into the room.  Srsly.  It fluttered wildly around the kitchen but then flew into the bathroom.  I shut the door against further incursions, and waited for Big Bad Cali.  She got a paper bowl, and as I hummed the Raiders of the Lost Ark theme to set the mood, she boldly slapped it over the thing---and the giant creature started to skitter across the floor like something out of a Stephen King story!  We found a used lottery ticket in a drawer to trap the thing, but it wasn't big enough!   I found one of those laminated maps and Cali shimmied it under the bowl and swept it  the enormous insect outdoors, where no doubt it went off to hunt down children and small dogs.

Never let it be said that our travels are not without adventure.
