ORIGINAL: SavageFaerie Seven Falls just swept me away, especially night view, plus if I recall (never trust that) isnt there a memorial or home or something where emily dickenson lived or another well know aurthor? Only thing I dont think we caught on your list was the working silver mine, but we did the Royal Gorge and Cripple Creek which was like going back in time. The hotel room was amazing although I had trouble getting up in the tall feather bed LOL Its a loverly place to visit but I have always been partial to mountains and area around. I would say yes yes New York but due to circumstances I dont think I will be living there once I get back from my extended visit with Phoenix and poen, the two of them are absoutly addicting, and a couple of the most genuine people I have had to pleasure of spending extended time with. I just cant say enough about then, as for the first time in I dont know how many years...I have enjoyed being around people, or having the chance to make lifetime friends. SF, thanks for the support. I'll need it to lure wanders here! The Royal Gorge is maybe an hour south of Colorado Springs, so it's two hours south of Denver. Kinda far. Cripple Creek, along with Blackhawk and Central City, changed its nature when it allowed limited stakes gambling, which I assume was after you visited it. I'm not sure what you mean by a famous author. Stephen King lived in Boulder for a while and based The Shining's Overlook Hotel in Sidewinder upon the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. But his residence was never a landmark. Kathy Lee Bates wrote America the Beautiful while on Pikes Peak - maybe that's it?
