Thanks for this post!

For you "young farts", Charley Weaver was a character played by Cliff Arquette, grandfather of,  you guessed it,  all those other Arquettes:  Rosanna, David & Patricia.  Here's one more from the vault:

Question: In the literary world, who kept saying 'I think I can, I think I can'?
Weaver: Well, out at the home, that was Mr. Ferguson. And Mrs. Ferguson kept saying 'I wish he would! I wish he would!'"

As a child I had no idea he was a character.  I just assumed he did movies that I didn't see, or maybe that he was the star of Hee Haw before Roy Clark & Buck Owens.  Maybe he was married to Minnie Pearl.  Then one day Peter Marshall announced something like, "Charley Weaver is played by the great Cliff Arquette".  And I realized TV can lie to you.  It was a bitter pill to swallow.

By the way..Peter Marshall's real name was Peter LaCock and his son of the original same name as dad played first base for the Kansas City Royals..just some odd trivia.

Charles Nelson Reilly was on Match Game.  You know, they held up the little blue cards with their answers that filled in the blank from Gene Rayburn's question.

I do not think CNR ever appeared on Hollywood Squares.  You are probably thinking of Paul Lynde-- they are both equally flamboyant.

One other thing about Match Game-- they almost always had a red-head on the panel.  Fanny Flagg, Marcia Wallace, Anita Gillette and Vicki Lawrence were all semi-regulars.  Also, there was that red-head with the very nasal voice and over bite.  She was cute, but I can't think of her name to save my life.  A little help?

Thanks, Scotty
