MasterShake69 -> RE: Dem Congressional Approval Rating Soars To 31% (2/18/2009 10:15:56 PM)

hmmm isnt that still Bush level of approval ;)

While the number is still quite low, and makes Congress about half as popular as President Obama, it represents a 12-point uptick from last month when Congress' popularity was clocking in at 19 percent. That rating has mostly floated below 30 percent since October 2005 and hit an all-time low at 14 percent in July of last year.

Just wait until these Dems realize they still have to buy their own gas, and pay for their own houses.

corysub -> RE: Dem Congressional Approval Rating Soars To 31% (2/19/2009 4:42:32 AM)

Hmmm..lets see...from 19% "soaring" to 31%!  That sounds about right... not bad...they only had to spend about $100 billion a point to get there....with a 3% margin of error, of course.  Gimme a break!

OrionTheWolf -> RE: Dem Congressional Approval Rating Soars To 31% (2/19/2009 6:48:19 AM)

"Or at least a half-hearted acknowledgement they are improving, which is more than they usually get. "

Yeah I guess mostly failure is better than complete failure. It is if you think there is anything good about failure.

Dem or Rep, it does not matter. This poll just shows that our supposed servants are still failing.

Who was in control of congresss during the all time low?

A whopping 31% eh ? Phenomenal !

Just think of what would happen to a company's stock value if their stockholders had a whopping 31% confidence in the company. Oh wait, we may have seen that huh.

Congress and MySpace and high school seem to have a lot in common- nothing but a popularity contest.

HotWheelz -> RE: Dem Congressional Approval Rating Soars To 31% (2/19/2009 8:48:19 AM)

A new congress always has a jump in approval ratings as they're seated, but 31% is like bragging that you walk and chew gum 31% of the time without falling down.  O had a high approval rating, around 80% when he took office a month ago, but it's already dropped 20% or thereabouts.  Like subrob pointed out, just wait until all of those obamanites discover that they still have to pay their mortgage and rent...well, at least most of it.

No shit?

I still have to pay my mortgage?

Godammit!

How do I take back my vote?

Can we still get McCain in?

I won't have to pay my mortgage under him, will I?

NeedToUseYou -> RE: Dem Congressional Approval Rating Soars To 31% (2/19/2009 3:02:10 PM)

Well, I'll say they haven't polled me.

All those asshats have done is give money to banks, corporations, run up the debt, force passage of an unread stimulus package(wait for this one to fall apart), seems like they are the same assholes.

IMO, its all this false feel good momentum of getting rid of George and the euphoria of change, I was and am happy about Bush being gone, unfortunately the new boss is continuing the old bosses plans.

I will rejoice when there is something to rejoice, the thought of improvement in no way replaces reality, and the reality is we are no better off in feb. than we were in dec. and in my opinion worse off because of the additional spending.

Yeah, I personally know quite a few former rabid Obama supporters who are already pretty bummed out at the evidence showing he's nothing more than just anothe politician.

I'm still hoping for "free" doggie day care in a pork package.

Unread stimulus package? You mean you didn't read it, right?

Just as the Dow hits it's lowest point in six years.

Sanity -> RE: Dem Congressional Approval Rating Soars To 31% (2/19/2009 6:17:03 PM)

I'm pretty sure he meant this:

The unread stimulus bill

Damn, after less than a month!

I imagine they'll be on the brink of clinical depression in another week or so.

Have you given them the number of the local suicide hotline?
