Anyone else notice the huge lurk factor on this board? A minute ago there were 130 people reading, only 23 of which were registered members.

Leonidas,
Wouldn't that happen if someone was a member and went directly to the message board before logging into the main page?

I think that the login here is distinct from the main page login. You have the option of storing the login here as a cookie so that you don't have to log in every time. If someone hasn't done that, then yes, they could be reading as a guest even though they are registered.

Yes I did, but I didn't really give it much thought. Why? You think there is a problem?

At the top where it says "login" is where you can check to save as a cookie. It's also on your profile page. Not sure about the invisble option, haven't seen that.

Well now that seems like an awful lot of work, lol. I come in here via email. I was actually asking about the statistics, but have concluded that I know everything I need to know to do what I do here. lol

Lady beckett,

On the homepage to this board, above the list of names, it says how many members and guests are here.

Well how cool is that? I do declare, I learn cool things about collarme every day. Now if I can figure out what to feed my collarme mail box critter so it will stop eating my email, I'll be alright!

I have noticed the number of "guests" listed at times. Not being by anyones standards a computer whiz, I have at times been annoyed that I read a post and wanted to repond to see the postreply option wasnt there. To then realize I had not logged in. So I am on occassion one of the lurkers. laughing. Ahhh the joys of the electronic age. Sundew

I've noticed it a couple of time, but mostly when I'm not paying attention to other things, as in if i'm board it will catch my attention.

For some odd reason, I seem to think the 123 lurking were people who were on the entire site at the time.
Now, I may most definately be wrong. But before they changed the looks around there never were that many people. Once the look of the site changed all of the sudden the numbers jumped.
