Status: offline 		I agree LadyEllen!  One problem is that if you can get the medical care you need, some of us would be better off with more choices rather than limitations after the illness has gotten too much control over our finaincal live's.  If we can treat things before they get so bad, we can prevent a lot of truama/drama and preserve a better physical and financial health situation.

I couldn't agree any more than I already do with that statement.

I'm still not being medicated for the arthritis (located mostly in my knees) that I've had diagnosed since 18 (I'm 21 now) because the one doc I had who was comfortable treating me for it was off to doctors without borders when I went back and was finally ready to be officially treated because I didn't like how much medication I was taking to control it D:

So I continue to self-medicate with the blood-thinning over the counter meds when I need to (using the directions she originally gave me). Being on steroids now, of course, helps immensely... though if I forget one day, or am even just a few hours late on a dose, it's *agony* (the type I'm NORMALLY used to, but being on steroids for a while has practically erased).

Status: offline 		LadyEllen, while it would be easy to say "i envy you", i'm actually JOYFUL that you're one less person suffering.  i'm glad you're able to get the treatments you need to be able to function. 

and it is a "function" question at this point.  i cant function.  i told my beastlyboy that i was sorry he didnt get the same mama his sister did...with her, we went camping, we went to the beach, we went climbing.  by the time he was old enough to do all that sort of thing (there is 11 years between them) i was too far gone to do any of it any longer.  his best memories?  stealing my popcorn while we were lying on the bed talking and watching movies.  it sucks for both of us.

i'm 46 and too young to feel this damned old.  on the upside, i dont LOOK this damned old.  heh.  dear gods, i just realized i now have to start looking for another doctor.... i'll be under the bed hiding if anyone needs me.  (nice trick under a platform bed, too.)

Status: offline 		I had a rough time raising my family as well.  I was a real physical parent and we played pretty hands on and rough, like a bunch of kittens playing and then... it was over.  They had to ask before they touched me, had to climb into my lap rather than my picking them up and I became very inconsistant with them.  So on good days, I would be as extreme as I could be.  We had a rule that when I called they better come... even if they knew what was coming. lol  I would open the kitchen window and call them... they tried to hang back so I couldn't get them... but I would squirt them with water and start a war of some sort that I couldn't finish but they could.  We had water fights and then it went to food fights.

One neighborhood will never forget the big food fight we all had.  Things were so tough on my um's and I just couldn't bear it, knowing what I couldn't give them.  So I decided it was open kitchen and they would never forget that day.  They are still telling their friends about it eleven years later!  Of course the carpet was never the same... but I didn't care.  They had to have some good memories and if it couldn't be Disneyland or camping trips like before... it would be a food fight.  There has to be some happy in all the tough stuff.

Oh... and I lost the food fight and had to be carried by my mate to the shower and put in clothes and all. lol  I will never look at little debbies the same.

i hope my two have as good memories of growing up as that...my son's are mostly being astounded that mama was the one to answer the artillery questions when he had to pick a new weapon in the latest video game.  he told me i was cool.  better than a million dollars and a diamond ring in my book, you know?  that helped.  thank you.  *gentle hugs*

Status: offline 		Yes, I know... nothing can beat seeing them smile and laugh about it telling someone again!  But man... how did you do the games stuff?  I soooooooo tried and sooooooooo sucked at it!  They would stand behind me and get frustrated... mom! get it... mom! god mom! lol  All I could do was laugh at them getting all wired up and frustrated becasue I couldn't figure out how that mario and dino whatever he was worked!  But they have fun telling people about that too!  Mom was known for... anything smarter than a toaster... mom can't do! hehe

If I couldn't move... I just made them bring me a squirt gun.. you know the large one's...hehe and made them stay in the room... I was evil... but we had our moments and that's what counts!  Once I had a frustrated one... I know he wanted to hit me so bad!  I pinned him to the ground, make his brother get me a highlighter pen, which he was more than happy to do knowing mom was up to something... and I colored his face.  I thought it would wash off! hehe  But it took three days to get off... but by the time I was done, we were all laughing even the angry one and we laughed for three days!  Just be a lil bit evil... it is soooooo much fun!
