MagikMisstress -> The issue of one line emails. (2/22/2009 7:45:30 PM)

I have a question for, my fellow Dominas.  Are you as sick as I am as getting the famous on line emails, that ask to be used and beaten?  Please forgive me if I go off on a rant here.

I don't know about everyone so I will not speak for others.  I do know that I have made it clear in my journal not to contact me with only one line emails.

I got an email where a sub asked for my attention.  It was a one line email, so I advised him to read my profile and journal again regarding the way I wish to be adressed.  He then sends me a two word email.  I just don't understand are these subs trying to piss me off so that I will play with them.

I wonder if I should put a template letter for these subbmissives to use.  Does anybody else do that?  Does it work?  Please forgive me if I am coming across bitchy, I just don't understand.

Thank you for letting me rant and if you have lasted this long, for hopefully answering and helping me deal with this issue so that I don't go strark raving mad.

Welcome to the internets.  [:)]

Was your reply one line on purpose?

(Mine was.  Oh hell, I screwed up my own joke.  Damn, I suck at this.)

Dominas don't just receive them, they send them as well. I've received several.

ShaktiSama -> RE: The issue of one line emails. (2/22/2009 9:22:42 PM)

I send one-line emails. Usually they say "Nice profile! You have nice photographs" or "It's well written", etc.. What more is there to say to someone I don't know yet?

catize -> RE: The issue of one line emails. (2/22/2009 9:26:47 PM)

Well I don't get a whole line sometimes!  Two from this weekend: the first one "hi" the second one "collared?"

Well, at least they used proper punctuation... guess if you tilt your head and squint that's a good thing, right?

You want an essay every time?

Put a template letter in your profile or journal?  They don't even bother to read that to find your preferred term of address so they certainly won't read, copy, paste and fill in a form letter.

It sucks hard but one-line waste-of-time E-mails are a fact of life on sites like this.  Delete and/or block them and move on.

Well if the subs are doing it to piss you off and make you play with them, then why do the dom/dommes do it? It can be annoying at times for sure, however I usually get a good laugh when I then look at their profile and they tell me how wonderful they are. Like Lady H said....welcome to the internet.

Heres a one word mail
WELCOME

MissIsis -> RE: The issue of one line emails. (2/23/2009 5:17:32 AM)

How about the one word emails, ie: "hi" with an almost blank profile.  It really isn't worth getting upset over.  It is much easier to put as much time into a response & just hit delete.

PeonForHer -> RE: The issue of one line emails. (2/23/2009 5:20:29 AM)

If it's first contact (makes it sound like I'm contacting an alien, doesn't it? - *chuckle*) then I'll try to keep to a few lines, something that registers that I've read her profile, something amusing and interesting, and completely vanilla. . . .  Not a bland one-liner because I know it'll be ignored and lacks all style anyway.  Also, though, not an essay - because it's too disheartening if that gets no reply.

Sometimes I'll reply with "bye"

E-mails with less than 7 words get me. These hardly say anything and if they continue from the same person it feels like pulling teeth to get a ANY level if information.

LeonaStern -> RE: The issue of one line emails. (2/23/2009 6:46:23 AM)

Dear MagikMisstress,

I know how you feel, some people send one liners, while others send long letters which are obviously just copied and pasted to every Mistress on here. There is a few subs that are serious, read your profile thoroughly and send you a brief individualized introduction.

There is a possibility that the serious subs that have spend hours writing individualized messages may have gotten burned  by several Mistresses who either do not respond, don’t look anything like their photo, demand momentary means in order to communicate and so on.

Putting a from letter or questionnaire on your site may not be a bad idea. If someone is seriously interested in contacting you and begin a meaningful relationship they will take the time to fill it out. It is after all so you can get to know them better, and see if you are compatible.
For example, you could post a few questions and ask subs to answer them such as:
What was your first lifestyle experience?
How do you feel about females that first join the scene as subs and then become Dominants?
Do you share My enthusiasms and which of My interests enticed you most to contact Me?
Etc.

Good luck, and I hope you find what you are looking for.

great, I love it. I don't usually even bother with them...either I send a copy paste message back Myself or I ignore, if someone is serious they will contact Me again.

ShiftedJewel -> RE: The issue of one line emails. (2/23/2009 7:27:20 AM)

I get one line emails all the time. When someone simply says "hi" I generally say hello back. I'm guilty of the one liners myself. If I read someones profile and it's really a great profile I'll send a one liner telling them as much. But I believe that it's nice to hear that people like your profile. I get them. Granted my profile is extremely sarcastic, but then again.... so am I. And I get "I love your sense of humor" thing quite often.

I'm not good at sending out messages either. Unless the person is a regular poster I generally have no idea what to say to them!!

Andalusite -> RE: The issue of one line emails. (2/23/2009 8:58:57 AM)

I just think of them as the subby equivalent of "kneel bitch!" e-mails. They don't really bother me that much, I just delete them, or at most write back and tell them we aren't compatible. I figure it's very fast and easy to know we aren't compatible! I *was* a little surprised that a fairly high percentage of the submissives who've contacted me have used those one-liner type e-mails, while the switches and Dom/Top types have been for the most part, interesting and put a lot more effort into it.
