Favorites/Admirers buttons on collarme

Status: offline 		I just pressed the admirers button for the first time and there are people on there I don't know. I checked a couple of them out and it seems kinda creepy to me that someone you don't know can keep tabs on you. Is there a way to prevent someone from adding you to their favorite people if you don't even know them? Does the blocking feature do that?

Any help is appreciated.

Just creepy.. why would someone do that?

Status: offline 		Nope, no way to stop a person. There are many threads about this on these boards.

Some say they are people who want to get to know you. Some say the opposite...they are people who really don't want to ever know you.

What sort of person to stay away from moreless.

In any event there is nothing you can do about it.

Status: offline 		it would be a nice added feature if you could take people off that list. eventually they drop off as others add on, but still it would come in handy to delete them. what did mick say, "you can't always get what you want...."

Status: offline 		They may have just seen something on your profile that stood out to them. Doesn't mean that they are going to stalk you or anything, its like bookmarking a page so you don't lose it.

Exactly! I often add people to favorites, merely to keep track of their posts. I enjoy what they have to say and it's an easy way of bookmarking that person and clicking on forum posts. So you see, someone may merely like what you have to say.

Someone on an admirer's list thinks well of me for SOME reason. The people I have on my favorites are MOSTLY there because they are freinds, and I want to be able to find their profile if I feel that I need to send them a PM for one reason or another. Doesn't mean I'd stalk them.

Every once in a while I'll add someone that I don't know to that list because I admored something they said in their profile, or what not. And I'd like to check in everyonce in a while to see if they have added anything else profound.

Though, I must say, when that happens I usually send a PM that let's them know that I liked what they said!

Status: offline 		If you have a profile here, it means you want people to read it. They don't keep tabs on anything but your profile. I can keep tabs on someone a lot more by tracking their posting history on the forums.

I wouldn’t miss it. Such Drama; Zone picked apart, Bettis fumbles Big Ben makes a game saving tackle,An interception by Polamalu, reversed…(what was this ref thinking) latter admitted by the league that the call was wrong. The wide right! You couldn’t write a better movie script. Not to mention money on the “Stillers” with 9 ½..

Status: offline 		The way I understand the Admirers/Favorites is:
Anytime someone adds you to their favorites list, they will show up on your admirers list.
This works for you too-if you add someone to your favorites list, you will show up on their admirers list.
Its just a way for people to let you know that they might be interested.
As far as I know they can't really stalk you in any way other that to see that you are online or to read your profile and journal.
You can always block them if you are getting unwanted email.

Wanna hear something really creepy about admirers lists? Not long ago, I had a malesub on my admirers list. That in itself gave me the willies.

Then I clicked on his profile to discover that he had copied and pasted my entire profile essay word-for-word, and was using it himself! This lazy bastard didn't even change the font size or color.

I contacted CM, and requested that they have it removed. CM complied.

I think it's just a way for them to get possible attention from someone without making any effort themselves.

I kinda see some as being creepy too.

Most of mine are from out of the state, or out of the country. I think many that use that feature are strictly onliners only, and they just hope to make more "online" connections. If someone is seeking real life contacts, like myself....then them hitting that button is a complete and total waste of time...for both of us.

Status: offline 		I sometimes put a person on my favorites list if I like their profile or if I want to look at their board posts. I always read their journal entries & if they state don't put me on your favorite list before contacting me i don't.
Personally I find it flattering if someone puts me on their list. Only three so far. Hopefully more to come.;)
