I recently had to reformat my computer, and while most of my important things were previously burned to disc, I did lose alot of my random things, such as quotes and some pictures.
Im hoping fellow quote lovers can help me find one that I really miss (and cant remember completely?)

There are 3 men, and I want to say they are chinese or japanese. They come across a bird and want it to sing.
The first one suggests hitting it (or something similar) I cant remember what the second man suggested, and the third man
said something like " You must inspire it to sing"
It's a beautiful quote, and I so want to use it in my profile, but can not find it anywhere.
Assistance will be greatly appreciated! [:D]

We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.

Abraham Lincoln

I am the sole legal and spiritual government of this territory, and only the laws I choose to enact within myself are applicable."

"It has always seemed strange to me that in our endless discussions about education so little stress is laid on the pleasure of becoming an educated person, the enormous interest it adds to life. To be able to be caught up into the world of thought -- that is to be educated."
