The free speech zones were introduced at a Democratic party convention...

As for the rest of your post, I would agree inasmuch as President Obama is indeed pursuing a radical far-leftist agenda that is fully capable of destroying the country. Whether he has consciously made the decision to tear the fabric of our society asunder or not, I have yet to decide. Regardless though, the effect will be the same.

6) refunding of the S-CHIP program which Bush cancelled, after his party swift boated a 12 year old and his family who benefited from the program.

7) re-established America's right to protest. No more "free speech zones."

8) We now do the returning bodies of the war dead the respect of seeing them come back. and NOT pretend that they don't exist.

9) Will be allowing the Bush tax cuts for the rich to expire, bringing in an extra 1.6 trillion dollars a year to the federal treasury.

10) investigations to see if criminal trials are called for, against members of the Bush administration, including those for treason, war crimes including torture, leaking the names of CIA operatives, and abuses of power while in office.

11) investigations into the justice department's activities to pack the supreme courts of the nation with arch republicans, insuring that no one gets a fair trial.

12) Oh, and he had Dick Cheney and Karl Rove shot. (Oh, wait, that's just me having a daydream... strike that.)

Be careful, Dick Cheney will shoot back.  And he'll shoot you right in the face.

I have been bothered by this type of sentiment since this President started running for his nomination. At various times non-specific comments by his own people had been made that when he changed his stance on issues it was simply to garner votes; their reasoning was that this is the way that politics are.

I'm not in favor of a brand of politics that favors out right deception that boarders an untruth.

The crazy thing is it appears the liberals simply want to win by having their side dictate to the rest and the conservatives are the same for their side. It's not about serving the greater good its about the greater serving their good.

I suggest we all wake up and soon. I'm not afraid of Obama, I'm afraid of his cult. I think I'll steal DG's tag line.

Obama save me from your followers...

JFK:  "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country."

So seems it goes as the Evolution of the Democrat Party....

Not true. GWB was using them prior to 2004.

Why so disturbed, Nasty? Just because I wanted to talk about competence for the moment rather than debate the specific goals? Yes, both are important. But even with the best of intentions, an incompetent leader is useless. In this post I was just talking about whether or not he has the competence to get things accomplished.

Whether his moves are right or wrong (and, while I do have a couple of disagreements with some of his actions so far) are the subject of another conversation.

I guess I don't understand how we could have a discussion about his competence without discussing how good a job he's doing.

Simply put, because politics is, in many ways, it's own game....and it's possible to discuss from a detached point of view, how well one plays that game.

   Spinner, there are things we can reasonably hope for in these forums.  That you will puzzle out the quote system would be one such reasonable hope.

      Hoping that everyone will be able to step back from immediate issues to view and discuss the bigger picture is not.

Just crazy.

Yeah, it was crazy alright.

But hopefully someone gets Larry Kudlow some help before he does harm to himself or others.

It`s clear that the traditional "honeymoon" given to a president won`t happen by the cons.

It was the same with Clinton.

Problem is,all the cons can say is no,no,no without better alternative plans or any alternatives at all.

All they have is bricks now.Nerf bricks, at that.

My list,

Officially ending the Iraq mess and even giving a dreaded time table by a date certain.That was yesterday`s accomplishment.

Closing gitmo and cleaning up that mess.

Ending gag rule.

Honest accounting.bush kept the war budgets off the books by calling them "emergency funding bills".That`s over.

Ending the federal crack-down of legal pot.Showing cons what state`s rights,really means.

Re-establishing actual law and order, at the DOJ.

Demonstrating how incoherent and out of touch republicans are.

S-CHIP.

Bringing back the assault weapons ban,for no other reason that it pisses off the lunatic fringe.

Banning torture.Still can`t believe we had to find it necessary to frick`n ban torture.lol

Spanking the cons,but good.

Stem cell and other research promoted.The re-introduction of science back into the arena and tossing the faith-healers,junk science/quackery and political considerations, out.

~~~~~~~~~~
Not bad for a month.
What did bush accomplish in his 1st month,besides ignoring intel reports about al-queda while reading "My Pet Goat" while demoting the terrorism czar?
It`s amusing that anyone,especially a busie,could expect President Obama to fix in a month,what took bush and the neo-cons,3,4,5-6 years to fuck up.
But the whinny complainy act about nothing so soon,only confirms for folks just how lame and immature republicans are.
    Did you mean to post this on the defining success thread, O59?  You seem pretty far out of step from the OP.
        Have you just been reading the headlines, and assuming the rest of the story again, O59?  I'm quite ok with President Obama's plan for the next phase in Iraq.
Indeed.  Most conservatives I know are happy with it...which isn't a suprise considering Obama is just continuing what Bush had started in that respect.
On matters of foreign policy, Obama so far is actually proving himself to be pleasingly moderate.
No....bullshit rhetoric and blind apathetical party line acceptance has allowed politics to become its own “game”, it's no different than any other profession on the planet, where no accountability exist the underhanded and  unaccountable reign supreme (both parties in power are clearly demonstrating this to be true). I still prefer a good bit of honor, honesty and integrity in the men (gender neutral) that I would expect to make decisions on behalf of us all.
      I wouldn't go that far, Sanity.  He hasn't yet been confronted by a nasty challenge where he must start from scratch.  I'm reserving any sort of judgement.
