MistresseLotus -> Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 1:42:33 PM)

I've had it!  Over the weekend, I saw more of this shit style than I cared to,.  It' not just a glimpse of the top of the boxers anymore.. the damn pants are belted below their ass!  I was soooooooooooooo temped to yank everything down with a "Show us the whole damn package then, bubba!"

What IS the point of this "style"????  What is it supposed to mean?

LaTigresse -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 1:47:53 PM)

I hate it also. As for what it is supposed to mean.............that they are badass ganstas from the hood that cannot afford clothes that actually fit?

My solice is that, this too shall pass.

I was watching a program this morning that had this as an issue for discussion.. It began in 1990 or so. WHEN will it end?  I almost went to the guy and told him his boxers were "kwel" but the brown streak in the back wasn't" ...just so he'd be a bit MORE self conscious of his presentation.

One place I was at...the two guys were wearing matching boxers!

Remember when suspenders ("braces" for you Brits out there :) were cool?

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:01:20 PM)

fast reply

i was riding the bus one day and this grown guy was wearing sagging pants. well, when he got off the bus, all of us had a good laugh. not only did his pants sag down to his ankles but his holey boxers were showing too!

Gwynvyd -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:35:05 PM)

I dont care how gansta they are... I tell them to pull up their damn pants. It is called Underware because it goes Under what you Wear.

*GAH!!!!*

FelineFae -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:37:29 PM)

i watched one of those shows about what its like in prison, and the saggy pants/showing your underwear is a sign that; "i'm someone's b****."
after watching that show, its amused me when ever i see saggy pants in public.

camille65 -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:41:02 PM)

I like watching them try to move fast, with the crotch of the pants between their knees. [:D]

beargonewild -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:41:11 PM)

Ugh......I keep hoping that this so called fad ends ASAP! It is nauseating seeing the twinky twinks saggy pants belted at their knees. [:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(]

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:41:52 PM)

IT's a good way to get shanked or shot at or some other violence come your way that's easily avoidable. You don't know who the guy is he could be a crack whore, who did his last dime bag 2 days ago and is jonsing and wouldn't think twice about killing you.

Course it's probably just someone being a punk, but in my opinion the satisfaction of saying something to the saggers isn't worth the chance of running into a pycho.

I saw that show too, then asked a family member of mine that was in... he said that they got it right, at least at the prisons in AZ...

I dont know if that is worse that emo kids walkin around with pants so tight you can tell their religion and you find yourself wondering how many parts fall off from lack of circulation

FelineFae -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:44:39 PM)

personally, i'm hoping that kilts will catch back on...

MissIsis -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:45:26 PM)

I just ask them if they need to borrow some money?  When they look at me funny, I tell them it is obvious they can't afford clothes & I would be happy to let them borrow a little money so they can go to the thrift store to buy them some pants that actually fit.

Asherdelampyr -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:45:52 PM)

I wouldnt hold your breath, there were a lot of goth kids that tried to bring kilts back once... it didnt really go so well in cities other than New York and Seattle from what I gather

beargonewild -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:46:31 PM)

I agree Felinefae! Hoping to start that trend here north of the border!

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:50:11 PM)

I'm always secretly hoping their pants will fall all the way down and then they will look stupider than they already do.

My brother used to think sagging was cool, and one day I yanked his pants down in front of my best friend, one who my brother happend to think was hot. He at least from then on started wearing a belt so they wouldn't fall lower than they already were, or lower than he wanted. and he did grow out of it eventually.

hlen5 -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:55:27 PM)

Let's start asking all the droopy drawers whose bitches they are!!!!

a side note - Anytime I see a kid in my hometown trying to do "gansta" I have to laugh. This town is so white bread it isn't even funny!

beargonewild -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:57:43 PM)

What is hilarious is seeing these "tough guys" wearing bozers with hearts or scooby doo prints....snicker snicker

I was weatching Tyra Banks  program this morning.  The fad did start in prison because they confiscated the belts as they could be used as a weapon.

I know youngers like to make a statement... but why do they prefer a statement that says "I'm a stupid idiot"?

FelineFae -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 2:58:37 PM)

that sounds like fun... mwah ha ha. :: giggle ::

SilverMark -> RE: Saggy Pants (3/3/2009 3:06:37 PM)

I never understood or knew where the  sagging and bagging look came from until I read (of all people's book) Charles Barley's "Who's Affraid of a Large Black Man".
He was interviewing Jesse Jackson who explained it(paraphrasing)  "that the people who came from jail pants would hang low like that because they couldn't have belts  and in the tough neighborhoods they were thought to be cool because they went to jail and so there fore they were tough and to be emulated".
Now, I have no clue as to the validity but, it seems to make sense.
