Daddies pants tend to slip off if he's not wearing a belt, and one day I came over to spend a few days with him and his brother and sister in law, and Daddy came out of the house to help me carry some stuff in and a box with my pillows and blankies, and since he was at home he wasn't wearing a belt,  and his pants started heading off his ass and on their way to the ground, and his hands were full, so I grabbed the back of them and kept them up where they belonged lol.

At our court house they do TSA like security screening.  The boy in the insanely baggy pants in front of me had to take off his belt, and he had all his court paperwork in his hands...he had a big struggle trying to hold up his pants to get through the x-ray machine.

Bless your heart YHMA, it is wonderful for you to stick up for the people who choose to emulate prisoners, give police an easier foot chase and who insist on assaulting our eyes with their taste in underwear, several States and Cities have consider  laws and many Malls will ban the person if they don't put on a belt or have them removed for trespassing if they refuse to leave voluntarily. Oddly enough while the style has so far not generated much in the way of civil fines they have where the sagging pants have taken the underwear with them and exposed more flesh than is legal. It is however offensive, at least to a few of us.

While I did say I was tempted...I didn't say I did or would do it. I am also offended by those who blast their car stereos so loudly that my car vibrates, and those who insist on partying loudly all night and keeping neighbors awake. I may be tempted to point an EMP machine at their cars or to shoot the stereo but I don't. That doesn't mean I am not tempted. I am TEMPTED to do a lot of things, like buy things I can't afford on credit, rescue every abandoned dog or cat, stand naked on my front lawn in the rain, or even unleash my full sadistic desires and nature on Buttah, but I don't and that is is the difference between maturity, responsibility and self control.

Please do not presume to think that I would assault someone unless they were harming another and that includes verbally.

Yes, being tempted, and not doing what one is tempted to do, is mature yes.

And yeah I stick up for people dressing the way they want to with out being harassed,  or heckled, even if I think they look stupid, I'd never harass someone over it, or consider harassing them.. I may snicker and point out how stupid they look to whom I am with, but I'd never say anything to them, or be tempted to.

She has a point, snide remarks to another around the wrong person can set up a confrontation, personally... I dont mind confrontation, I dont seek it out, but I dont try too hard to avoid it either, just make sure that you are willing to get in a fight with anyone you feel the need to comment upon and you should be good (at least that is what my grandpa always told me)

I champion the different crowds on the fringes of society, or those that others point and talk about.

I had a very good friend that was a little person (dwarf) that was just over 3 feet tall.

I would go get her and take her to the movies at the mall, and treated her like I treat everyone.
We were talking to the theater and  was behind her and I said "Teresa if you dont hurry up  Im going to step on you.
We turned  the tables on those that mocked and stared, by showing we were comfortable to talk about it and it wasnt any different than with a normal size friend.

Trust me, different people are well aware of those they are surrounded by and pick up on under breath remarks.

I personally would not think twice if I heard a comment from a stranger, and boldly confront them and ask...now what is that you just said about my friend...come on say it to her face.

And btw about saggy pants....that got popular when my kids were nearing legal age and their vast amount of friends would hang out at my house.  When I saw saggy pant here is what I would say.

Okay________ if your going to show me your boxers drop them too and let me see it all.

They quickly learned to hitch their pants around me.  They were not willing to push "Mom" and see if she was serious.
They respected me to much and pants stayed above the hip in my house even  if it mean using a safety pin to keep them up.

My house my rules....which for the most part were alot more lax than most Mom's houses.
It was the neighborhood safe house for throw away kids.

Most the time not, it's not like you're shouting hey look at that guys boxers and isn't it stupid  by point out, I don't mean literally pointing at someone, you just lean over and quietly mutter to your friend that looks stupid. Nobody thinks anything of one friend quietly talking to another.

All though it's probably rude to do.

hate to burst your bubble there, but people dont have to hear to know they are being singled out...I have been around so many special people I can pick them out by just a look.  What you think its far from how you percieve it.
Im not just talking about those that have physical disabilities, but those that live on the fringe and refuse to cater to the norm.   I mean I sense when people are aware of who unique I am.

Now me I will see a persons individuality and if its pleasing in a non threatening way....I will get the person eye and just give them a thumbs up which tell them some people accept their unique ways without automatically judgeing them.

Saggy pants are negative and can project as a threat....I just usually pass them by and ignore the negative that seem to come out.  Trust in parts of nyc you have to do that.

Goths, those that love to vampire, physical or mental disabilities.  I can adapt to their enviroment and just treat them like I strive to treat everyone. Plus any other unique way a person prefers to live

It is not our right to judge...period  Its their right to present themselves are they wise...whether I like it or not.
Everyone has somthing someone will probably not like. Its our right to our opinion but absolutely we do not have the right to judge based on what appears on the outside of themselves.

People cross the street to stay away from me when I walk somewhere... IF they cant cross the street they have been known to walk in the street out of fear...
I can dress like everyones favorite preppy kid and it still happens... It used to bother me, now it makes me laugh

Sage, I love you dearly, but I have to call BS on this.

The thing that gets me is: you all say "judgmental" or "right to judge" like that's a BAD thing.  That is what feminine socialization wants you to believe!  Life without judgment is worthless.  Recipe for wasted time: don't be "judgmental."  Just let life wash over you.

There's a subject for an essay right there.

\There was a sweet girl named Mary at the high school I went to, and she was mentally delayed* for lack of a better term* And a group of certain  seniors loved to make fun of her, They'd be like "hey Mary bark like a dog, or oink like a pig", and she'd quite happily do it while they laughed their asses off cause she didn't realize they were making fun of her.

After I became friends with her I'd steer her away from those particular seniors.

In my old town of Ocala..there was a man who was constantly seen on the street, dirty, smelly, scruffy..you name it..most people avoided him, avoided his eyes, when he died he left over 3 million in various bank accounts and in his home. The ones who benefited were those who went out of their way to make sure he had food and a kind word.

We all make judgments, most base it on appearance, accent, manner of "speaking" in forums, where they live, what they drive, where they eat, how they dress, etc. SOME look beyond that and base their judgments on the "person" they prove themselves to be. I am ecstatic that Blackphx looked beyond my age, my weight, my ex2be then, my health and discovered that inside was a person he could love..and it was the same for me..Consider someone 15 years my junior? RIGHT. Glad I was smart enough to take a chance and let him and let myself find the person inside depsite everything that was against us..I have never been happier.

As far as those who dress Jailin, Gothic, GQ or Leather and Lace, they choose to project an image..for good or ill and they should expect people to judge them by it..in fact most want people to do exactly that. I just don't have to like viewing someones underwear hanging out over the fresh produce at the supermarket..but then again i am not to thrilled with those who wear their Jammies there either...I really don't want someones "stuff" rubbing over the peaches I will be picking from..and I have seen that happen..YUCK.

Aylee I was talking about immediate judgment without basis of an individual. I can judge if a person is good or bad after a in person interaction.

I do not judge based on appearance and just notice some people choose to be different. I'm a to each their own person.  Now I can judge character is there is interaction by seeking who they are and by despite difference, one has to but look inside.

Have to agree to disagree here, this is how I look at this and always have. Famine socialization or not. I am only speaking for myself and my beliefs and observations. No one else's, if it appear I spoke for the masses then I digress, as that was not my intention.

I do not feel I am fooling my self by lack of  academic knowledge it is based on my learned street smarts.

I've been known to tell 'em - none to quietly - to either pull 'em up or finish dropping 'em so they could take it up the ass like a good lil bitchboy.   I'm not to worried about the potential of running across one that's a candidate for the psych ward, either - I'm crazy, and I legally carry concealed.

Actually, if you're crazy, you can't legally carry concealed

Absolutely. Most people are neither as subtle, nor as clever as they think they are. The only saving grace is that people who know they're different because they choose to be either don't give a fuck, or are amused by it.

As for the droopy drawerzzz thing, I think it's ridiculous, but the jumbo-oversized-clothes thing has been around for so long that I rarely notice it anymore.

If a person chooses to present themselves a particular way (in this thread, as a gangster or whatever) then YES, I am going to make an immediate judgement about them BASED on appearance.  I will also be judging on behaviour and actions.

If this was NOT going to be happening, why do we always tell people how important FIRST impressions are?

The reason that we tell people this, is BECAUSE an immediate judgement is going to be made.

So, yes, I do judge people.  Especially on how they present themselves.  And if they are found wanting, it is unlikely that I will be taking the time to get to know the person "inside."  This means that if an individual wants to run around looking like some sort of thuggie-gang-banger-wanna-be, I am not going to go out of my way to be positive about it.  I am not going to go out of my way to be negative about it either.
