InTonguesslave -> kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 3:51:00 AM)

i yawned last night as Sir was lecturing me on the phone about something  [&o] - (which didnt help matters) - he picked up on it and asked me how i thought that would impress him in any way atall.  i apologised profusely of course and then something occurred to me and is why im posting this.

when horses submit to their owners, i dont mean by beating them and forcing them, i mean when a horse submits happily, they have a reflex that looks alot like yawning, theyll open their mouths and really stretch their jaw wide, chew and soften, drop their heads and their eyes will go all dreamy.

i explained this to Sir and he laughed - and my question is this:

have you noticed ever a tendancy or desire at least to yawn when youre Master is lecturing you on something, pushing you for a moment of reflective acquiescence.

i tend to yawn because i'm exhausted after a long day not because Daddy's lecture is long/boring.  come to think of it, Daddy doesn't lecture me.

i know, thats why people normally yawn - but there is a similar reflex ive noticed while im on the phone most especially - that when i feel turned on by something Sir is saying my body wants to stretch out in a similar way to when youre just waking up in the morning and you stretch - just wondering if its a reflex other people have noticed.

i know im not alone on the body stretch thing - ive heard of before.

feydeplume -> RE: kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 5:44:56 AM)

i don't yawn, possibly because i never knew it was a form of submission/acquiescence. i think of it as either a tired or pleasured action.  But i do things subconsciously that i equate with reaffirming the power structure. Apparently i was raised around loads of cats so i tend to do cat like things.

kuriouswitch -> RE: kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 6:03:08 AM)

i don't yawn around Master (mostly cause when i do it means bed/nap time which usually means a struggle) but i do find myself grinning when i get lectured. it's not cause i enjoy it, trust me a lecture is always accompanied by a painful spanking (not the good pain either) but it's an automatic reaction. thankfully Master knows i'm listening and understanding even when i am smiling away like an idiot. I have heard of yawning being a submissive gesture, it's just not one that tends to pop up with me. though i do find myself wanting to stretch out like you said when with Master.

subangi -> RE: kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 6:10:27 AM)

A yawn is a reflex giving your body an oxygen jolt when you are not taking in sufficient breaths.  Maybe your Master truly takes your breath away and you dont inhale enough, and that is your response.   I think thats very sweet.

Oh you are definitely not alone, my owner actually gets a kick out of watching me do that.. especially when I am completely unaware that I'm s.l.o.w.l.y stretching out and smiling happily. Sometimes I get a bit embarrassed but he really does like when I do that.

I'm not a yawner unless I need extra oxygen or am fighting going to sleep, but I am a stretcher and wiggler.

missturbation -> RE: kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 8:53:18 AM)

I'm with you on the body stretch, contented smile on my face thing but not the yawning. I tend to hold my breath and chew my lip then let out what sounds like a huge sigh when i start to breathe again.

Edited for pathetic spelling attempt [:D]

Not really. I can't say I feel particularly horse-like. I yawn when I need to yawn. If I was yawning out of boredom, I'd hold it in for politeness sake. I get a good yawn when I stretch but I can't relate to that him or our relationship since I've always done that.

Me too.

From my understanding, you yawn when your breathing patterns change.  Some people yawn when something gets boring - but some people yawn when they're standing around waiting for something (like a race to begin, etc...).

When your Dom was talking to you, probably the energy changed.  Your breathing changed - and you yawned.  It wasn't because he was boring, it was because the energy between you two probably changed.

Just the same, I would probably try and stifle it the next time.  lol.

daddysliloneds -> RE: kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 12:17:32 PM)

if he wasn't impressed by your yawn, god help you when another act of nature takes place when he's lecturing you, like a fart!  he needs to get over himself and realize that some things just happen and we can't always control everything no matter what's going on around us!

FelineFae -> RE: kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 12:28:18 PM)

Lol, were we all to be casually speaking, a yawn would be no concern.
Were we being lectured, scolded, or instructed, we would be brow to the ground and bum to air. In this case, a yawn or other bodily function not held in check, would not be overlooked. Likely it would result in a slap to the bum...

Hanable -> RE: kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 12:44:36 PM)

i tend to yawn when im content.. happy and relaxed.. so i understand what ur talking about ITS. its a way of relaxing so i understand it when my.. partner does it. be it a sub a dom or an equal. if there comfortable enough with me to be relaxed and content i welcome those little actions that tell me there happy.

H >:)

When he's lecturing me? No, only if I"m really tired but he usually knows I'm tired before that.

Usually when he's lecturing I'm too busy making sure I'm paying attention because I know if I don't it will come back to bite me in the ass.

DavanKael -> RE: kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 4:09:15 PM)

I think I can relate on the comfortable stretching thing with a comfy other.
Lally, seems you have a lot of worries lately...sending ya a < hug >.

DesFIP -> RE: kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 5:53:57 PM)

It was late and you were tired. I don't think it's anything more than that. As far as telling you not to be tired, which effectively is what he did - I'm shaking my head.

DefiantFlower -> RE: kinda silly, but a genuine question too (3/5/2009 8:13:59 PM)

I tend to yawn when I'm bored or tired...both of which are likely during most kinds of lectures.

You can't really be faulted for something instinctual. It doesn't necessarily mean you don't give a crap or that you are trying to be disrespectful. If they don't want you to yawn, perhaps a more interactive lecture would be advantageous.
