ORIGINAL: LisaCarter I've noticed that American's use word "addiction" to explain no self-control. Very lazy country. Lazy? No Sweetie...hardly. The majority of us have worked our asses off to get where we are, and are still doing so to stay there. In the simplest terms possible, an addictive personality is an emotional/mental disorder...in the same way a murmur is a cardiac disorder. It does not matter what the addiction is: sex, drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, etc. Addiction is an illness and cannot be blown off to a lack of self control. If a loved one had a heart murmur, would you tell them to help themselves by using a bit of self control? I hope not. Is good explain. I understand addiction but with food to help craving, can you not eat healthier food than big mac to satisy addiction?
