When contacting potential subs, is getting a hold on their wallet a priority for you?  its just i was contacted by a Domme today who i did not approach who instantly announced that She wanted me as Her slave. its like do i get a say in this? then She asks me how can i serve her? i say by my smile, She gets thick and starts saying do I work? when I can send Her first tribute etc? then when i reveal to Her that i dont have any money to give, She suddenly goes silent. No contact at all. it s like are people that shallow? is money the be all and end all for you?

Yes, it is.

As a male sub who has come to a point in his life wherein which certain creature comforts are necessary....I'd have to say I wouldn't be interested in a Domme unless she could provide me with the lifestyle I've become accustomed to.

(That...and really big hooters).

Taking care of your -own- money, and not being up to your elbows in bills you can't pay is important to me. Other than that, money is a non-issue unless someone who is with us chooses to make it my issue and ask me to manage their funds... and even then, I'll do my best not to have to take that burden on, because no matter -what- you do, if something happens and things don't work out well, there is always the weight of accusation about why the manager of those funds did X and not Y, and it isn't healthy for long-term relationships, in my opinion. Of course, I even tell my offspring who are preparing to marry to keep their finances separate... for the fiscal health of their families -and- themselves.

Thanks Peon, im Irish and proud
Barack Obama rocks. i dont agree with Fenian extremism though. Many in this country are against them. Witness the sheer disgust at the attack last night in N.Ireland. We dont condone terrorism from Republicans. Most people here are actually fed up with the Fenians

I shouldn't have joked about that and I'm sorry, Kevin.  I know most Irish are fed up with it all and I'd say nearly all Brits hate it, too.  It's all gone on a few hundred bloody years too long.  Christ, I hope never to hear Dennis Murray's voice on the news again, nasally-voiced git that he is. Using fast reply....

Personally, I see it as an insecurity the OP has, with his own financial status. He refuses to acknowledge that most dominants want and expect a certain level of personal responsibility, including personal finances. He seems to not quite have that one nailed, so instead of doing what he needs to do to fix his own issues, he would rather take the extreme (pro-domme, financial domme ) and demonize them to compensate for his own failings.

I could be wrong, but............

I agree to a degree.  there are all sorts of rules laid out in the tos. one of them is not to conduct a business out here....

I have always thought that many of the dommes are merely enterprising women and that their actions probably do come close to bordering on prostitution.

I have always thought that was gross.  I am no prude. I have always wanted more out of people.  Wanted them to live out their dreams and not be forced to create an income string based soley upon their bodies or what they can do to another's.

For many becoming the money grubbing domme is the last resort for the folks  who's looks have betrayed them to the point that there is no longer a possibility to be compensated as a hooker. Or their failure in staying at all on the "right path" (education, felonies, drug abuse) has made this career choice a viable option in lieu of the glorious and exciting career of "supersizing."

It would suck to be Kevin and having to sort through all of the bullshit that surrounds this thang....I can only imagine it is no walk in the park on the other side of the coin either.

thishereboi -> RE: Is money your priority? (3/8/2009 3:24:42 PM)

I've wondered about that myself. No one asks me for money. I guess I should feel left out, but I don't.

slvemike4u -> RE: Is money your priority? (3/8/2009 3:30:21 PM)

Really,no unsolicited CMail from supposed Dommes with a poor grasp of the english language. No mail from absolutely stunning 2o something "females" with professional photos on their profile. Please let me know what sort of mail filters you have set up.

MissLaura1973 -> RE: Is money your priority? (3/8/2009 3:52:34 PM)

I have had several offer me money / tribute / gifts and always laugh at the idea. I do NOT want those things - I want the person to be mine, all mine, and I do not, in anyway, want them to feel as though I owe them something.

Long-term, if someone is going to be joining my household, then yes, we do have a discussion about finances / contributions to the bills, etc. But I have absolutely no interest of taking control of their checkbook.

For those who ask me about tribute, I sent them the websites of several charities that I support and tell them to send their money there. Have no idea if any have done that, but I can always dream.

No, but I do find subs who contact Me without reading My profile want to get hold of Mine.

Which I find as amusing ,contacting anyone without taking the time to ascertain just who the hell you are writing .....screams wanker.
I have even been contacted by female subs who tell me they are looking for a man to offer devoted service to,of course my standard reply is this would accomplish nothing other than headaches for everyone involved, what with all the knocking of heads that would ensue when neither of us will consent to rising from our knees.

Someone contacted you and tried to scam some money out of you.  Shocking that such a thing would happen on the internet, isn't it?

What you're describing doesn't have anything to do with what doms want when contacting potential subs, it is about what scammers want when contacting potential targets.  You're fortunate that she (or he or they) got right to the point and didn't waste a lot of your time.

I was thinking the same thing.

Instead of complaining when scam artists reveal themselves, why not be happy that they did before you wasted any money on them?

Lashra -> RE: Is money your priority? (3/8/2009 7:38:05 PM)

A sub's wallet does not serve me, the person does. I could care less how much money they have or what their credit card limit is or how many assets they have accumulated over the years.
I am perfectly content with buying things we need or paying my own way when we go out so, the answer is NO money is not my priority.

I am fully in agreement with you. The only thing I would add is that she should have a very demanding career, preferably something that requires her to work at least 60 hours a week. I wouldn't want someone bothering me by barking orders at me while I'm flopped out on the couch trying to watch sporting events on the television.

I'll attest to that. When she and her slave met me for dinner last month, they refused to even let me pick up the tab. Vendaval's fer real! [sm=applause.gif]

VanessaChaland -> RE: Is money your priority? (3/9/2009 1:34:18 AM)

Its quite simple really. Do not send any woman, any domme, any money ever. Period.
People should work for their income. If she does a "job" for you, compensate her accordingly. I don't know why some submissive men lose their backbones when it comes to "dominant" women. Any domme that is asking about cash, career, status or anything similar should be ignored. Chatting with them only encourages them to keep trying and dissuades them to not to get a real job. Yes I know there are a few guys out there that enjoy the "money domme" thing, and thats their choice. But those are one in millions if not tens of millions. And the majority of "money dommes" don't know the first thing about anything "domme" related other than someone told them that some guys might send them money for doing nothing so that was good enough for them to go into "business".
