Epsom Salts in the bathwater and soak...a little cocoa butter to help it heal or even Bag Balm (at your favorite pharmacy) to recondition the skin and help it heal.

poenkitten ( glad to hear you had a GREAT time)

I'd recommend Ibuprofen or something similar. That will help bring down the inflamation. some hydrocortizone ointment will help soothe also aid in bringing down the inflamation, and it is safe for the genital area ;)

Along the same lines as the bag balm is an lanolin based cream called Corona for anamals.  Works wonders because it doesn't wipe away.  I know you said you don't like aloe, but for others who do, try a lubricant called Pink.  It is silicone based and has vitamin E & Aloe in it.  A must for me

Anything used for diaper rash is safe on the bits.
But basically, ice and time is all you can do.

Good evening!
I pretty much have that feeling alot dealing with this vaginal atrophy, feels like raw, burning, swollen when it happens. And yes I agree..::laughing:: anything like underwear or pants is forget it!! When it flares up bad, like right now, I use generic OTC vagicaine-it numbs the outside of the lips and perineum. Then i take AZO yeast tablets-again OTC-3x a day. The AZO basically takes the edge off the peak of pain and allows me to walk or sit for extended lengths of time. Be careful not to get anything inside your vagina as it IS raw but use a mirror and do the best you can for outside.
I also agree with witch hazel. Good luck (whispers..oh and I am sooo jealous! lol)
Love,
Zechriel

Thanks everyone, for all of the tips (and sympathy for my va-jay-jay!). I'm expecting a repeat performance next weekend so hopefully all this new knowledge will make a difference the day after.

I'm so glad I moved closer to him.

Vitamin E oil (Careful as it can be messy and stain).
Best wishes,

Arnica tablets are really good to help alleviate bruising and swelling, and speed up healing. You can also get Arnica cream but I'm fairly certain it cannot be used on broken skin. Like the others have said, cold compresses and ice packs work wonders too.

I have always found that an educated, compliant and willing tongue works best. :)

Can you please just call it "The Vag"?  "Va-Jay-Jay is so Oprah and the thought of Oprahs "Vag" is not something most people wish to contemplate. :)

I'm super sensitive to lotions and whatnot down there. My doctor, at one point when I was sore and chaffed to the point of bleeding, recommended an oatmeal bath or cream (aveeno, specifically). It helped quite a bit, although it also made a bit of a mess. Good luck!

Dear OP,

Also, be prepared for a poss. yeast infection.  When you have small tiny tears.. someone said to use an ointment.. totally!  Wash once a day with the witchhazel.  Also.. When things like that happen to me, I know that a yeast infection is around the corder because with the small tears that you don't see, bacteria builds up (good kind and the bad). Ice Ice Ice.. sit on.. but the nurse told me once never to insert it.. if your burning.. yeah.. you might be starting one.. Sorry hon.  Oh, the seven day creams work better then the one day during the healing process.

i've always applied ice packs to the hoohaa.....but don't do it for more than 20 minutes at a time, as that can damage the skin.  Nursing school taught me that.  Take breaks in-between if necessary, and good luck.
