Personally, I'm not a democrat, and I still think the Palins are a family of grifters, unqualified to be anywhere near that office. When Barney Frank runs for Prez or VP, then he'll be scrutinized the same intense way. So far, he hasn't. She has. And rightfully so.

I'm not sure I would chose her over Thompson or Romney in spite of that reaction, though; and I doubt her ability to survive the early primaries. (Although I wish her well; her effect on the left is awfully fun to watch). Jindal reminds me of Alfred E Newman- and he needs a tailor. Not Jeb- I think the country has had enough Clintons, Bushes and Kennedys to last a couple centuries. I look for Newt to test the waters. I think JC Watts wants back in the arena; and I've never heard him say anything I didn't pretty well agree with. Jim DeMint is another attractive dark horse (pun intended). If the recession deepens and lasts it would help the GOP generally; some candidates a lot and others none. (If black unemployment reaches catastrophic levels would it improve Watts' chances?) In other words: no real idea. Someone needs to step up imo. You?

I'm 57 years old and more than aware of the difference you remarked upon. Part of it, I think, was Trig. My wife and I had a very premature baby and are experienced, at least tangentially, with some of what her family is going through. I also said I probably would not have voted for her against thompson or Romney. Can we address issues instead of insult each other? TIA

I saw some articles suggesting that it went for two to three hundred thousand less than what would have been fetched for comparable jets. You are old enough you find the links and do the math.

I believe that she also had her house built by state contractors, who did it for her, as a "thank you" for thowing them a juicy Alaskan state construction contract... (so much for saving the people of Alaska money by living her own house.) And I loved the fact that the denouncement against her "abstinence only" education BS came from her own daughter, who was holding her newborn in her arms at the time. "It's just not realistic," said daughter Bristol... And now, apparently, Sarah is being sued by the ASPCA for her helicopter wolf hunting practices... ...and, isn't funny, now that she's out of the campaign, that she's changed her story about the "bridge to nowhere"?

I think that calling the GOP a cartoon is outrageous and I am not alone in this. Mitt Romney was so upset at the very idea that he hit himself in the head with a frying pan until little birdies flew around his head, blew steam out of his ears with steam whistle sound and said "You're dithpicable!"
