OK... If you HAD to choose between one or the other (i.e., there is NO OTHER OPTION here), would you choose:

A - In a loving relationship without D/s (but 'nilla kinky sex is ok)

B - Non-committed D/s play from time to time, but no love/relationship


I'm just curious?

I'll start things off... If I HAD to choose, I'd choose "A" - love over D/s.

I'd choose A as well. I lived a long time before I discovered my sub-self and I think I could find other ways to satisfy that side of myself other than sex if I had to.

I put the Dom side of myself on the back burner for over 15 years because I chose A over B.... I'd still do the same again if the right person came along but I'm hoping that I can find C this time around (Love and D/s) [:)]

They aren't.
It's a hypothetical question intended to make you think about what you value and how much. There doesn't have to be an answer you'd commit to in real life. You just pick one as if you there were no other choices.

I would choose B. One can find meaning in many different kinds of relationships and I just dont do well in love relationships without the D/s dynamic.

Completely agree with you, Master and i both agree, the relationship comes first, play is secondary. Even without the play He is the Dominant one in our relationship, i am naturally going to follow His lead and serve Him, even if we never knew about the lifestyle.

Although I have recently been informed that all I have is a vanilla relationship with kinky sex anyway so I guess that's already what I have (it always amazes me how much strangers from halfway across the country know about my relationship)

I'll never do vanilla again. I spent 15+ years lying to myself, my partner and the rest of the world about who and what I was, trying to be "normal", trying to fit in. All it did was pretzel me emotionally and spiritually, pushing me to the brink of suicide. Fuck that noise.

I'm a sadist, I'm a Top and with the right partner I am her Master.
Love without D/s? Wrong assumption. Without D/s there will be no love as I will not waste my time.

B- I'll take the play only until the right one comes along, thank you. I could live quite happily with service, submission and the occassional whimper or scream from pain.
