If you don't find something you like exercise can be a bugger. I actually prefer gyms, but they're really expensive where I live, and I travel too often to feel like I'm getting my money's worth. But my substitution of resistance bands for weights, and actual stairs for the machine haven't been too bad. And just think, now that you've got the hay baleing arms you can probably throw a stray cat if necessary (kidding, kidding)

I know everyone hates it, but I really wish people would focus more on the exercise portion of losing weight. I can't think of a good term for it, but have you ever seen someone who's skinny fat? They may be generally thin, but flabby or with weird fat deposits? That's usually what happens when someone starves themselves into weight loss rather than exercising to get there. Just my opinion, but most of the time I think they'd look better fat. On a more extreme level, you see it a lot with the people who do gastric bands to lose weight rather than exercise. I'd need someone with more medical training to confirm it, but it seems like dropping too much weight through diet alone doesn't give other parts of your body (like skin) a chance to keep up.

I have up until recently always been very physically fit and when your physically fit you can eat what you want because you need the calories. After giving up horse eventing that had me horse riding up to 5 hours a day, (which was my profession ) to working long hours behind a desk, I quickly noticed that I couldn't eat anything like the amount I was used to. I have three rules with eating.
1. Not to eat junk
2. Not to eat unless I'm hungry
3. to stop eating once I feel satisfied.

It all matters on metabolism. Personally I eat healthy i stick to 1200 calories a day, I run a mile a day walk about 3 more plus yoga. Im still over 100 pounds over weight and have lost a total of 3 pounds on said routine.  My sister doesnt move off the couch unless its to move to her bed or pee, all she does is eat. and yet shes barely 115 pounds. I was born with a sluggish metabolism that i cant seem to kickstart, she was born with a hyperactive metabolism she barely needs to move to maintain her weight. Its not about what you eat honestly, its not about how much you work out. It matters how your body reacts and digests food, because my metabolism is so slow it doesnt matter what i eat. Ive gone up to 2 weeks with only drinking water, i still gained 10 pounds... >.< Personally i would say dont worry about your weight as much as your self image and self esteem. Me. I LOVE my body, sure im fat, sure many find that fat unattractive but then if all they want is my pants size whats the point of keeping them Eh? If your ment to loose weight get active and hopefully you will loose some, if your not well at least your healthy....

If you're trying to lose weight (from your last sentence it seems you may have decided not to), try to talk to a nutritionist, but have you considered that you may not be eating enough? If you're exercising every day and taking in fewer calories than you need, your body may be trying to hang on to what it can because you aren't getting enough and it's in survival mode. Sounds crazy, but sometimes if you starve yourself you end up training your body to hang on to whatever it gets as long as it can, rather than to let it go.

I just read the term "skinny fat" in a magazine to describe people who diet but do not exercise.  And when someone looses a significant amount of weight they frequently need surgery to remove excess skin and prop up certain areas.

That is exactly right 4u2spoil, if you don't eat regularly and provide your body with proper food for energy your body will end up storing what you do give it, which totally defeats the purpose.

Lots of good advice here.   And yes metabolism does effect us a lot esp as you get older...trust me

I can just smell a pizza and gain 5 pounds.    Moderate exercise about twenty minutes or more a day is fine.  Walking, swimming, any thing that gets your blood flowing is good. of course dont over do!

Best thing if you can do it is 5 to 6 light meals thru the day.  Get away from the three big heavy meals if you can.  Big one is not eating a large meal before bed it is very hard to digest as you sleep!

Most of all ask for help as face it we all weaken at times!   Get your sub/slave to help out chasing them around is good exercise too as well as arm exercises with your flogger or whip.

Tai Chi is a wonderful form of exercise, wondrous in its effects on the mind body and psyche. Mind you I also like to belt the bejasus out of a punching bag and walloping a pell whilst wearing 70 KGs of heavy armour with a variety of medieval weapons.. Good for the digestion, clears the head and cleanses the spleen from all manner of bile and other ill favours you have developed from mingling or working with the clusterfuck brigade..

I whole heartedly concur. Tai Chi combined with some yoga has kept me from having back surgery, and has improved my over all health. Once you start doing some of the more advanced work outs for Tai Chi, you begin to realize you have muscles and power flows through every part of your body. There are also some Tai Chi sexual exercises that when mastered allows for you to have an orgasm without ejactulation, which means you can keep going. The stress relief from Tai Chi is amazing, and I noticed it after just a week.
