Whats up everyone:

I was curious because I know most us here are different in someway, and pursue that difference with vigor/vitality.  What do you think is the greatest piece of a free life...not free from responsibility, but free to be, and live freely.

Like James Dean or Alan Watts, or the Buddha?

I believe that finding that peace and freedom, comes from within, rather than from something, someone, or some belief system.  Finding a comfort in who you are... finding out who you are and accepting and liking and respecting that person and then going from there... brings that personal freedom to live as you are, be who you are and not worry about how anyone else views you in a deeper sense of it all.  Most care to some degree what people think or in general society's expectations... but when you are at peace with yourself... it doesn't matter... no one can shake your personal foundation.

I agree with Lockit 100%. I am the key to my own freedom. If I am not comfortable with myself, I will be locked in my own prison. No one has the key but me.

Being debt free is really a big part of being stress free. Seriously. Hard to live ones passion when life revolves around struggling to provide for the basics. Many people have been caught up by wanting way too much of everything. Way too much of everything is most definitely not free. Try and keep your life simple. Want little. Laugh much. Gather and keep friends.

I would second Miss Lockit's sentiments also.  Being free is all about you.  I have found that even in the worst of my times, I can find all sorts of things to be grateful for.  When I can focus on living in a state of gratitude, life gets really easy and fun.

As a sub, I want to be able to feel joyous and free, so that the gift of my submission that I give is one of great value to my Mistress (sigh, if only).

yours

But I enjoy seeing my ex's!!

Seriously, I think that finding the joy in the moment, not regreting yesterday, not thinking that tomorrow is the day that xxxx will happen and I will be happy.......just enjoying now, for what it is, whatever it is. Regardless of bills, work, life's shit.

That is my joy and freedom.

When you hand the bank teller a note during a robbery, make sure it is legible.

Try this, "If" you like

If you can keep your head when all about you[font=&quot]
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
[font=&quot]If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
[font=&quot]
But make allowance for their doubting too;
[font=&quot]If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
[font=&quot]
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
[font=&quot]
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
[font=&quot]
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
[font=&quot]

If you can dream-and not make dreams your master;
[font=&quot]
If you can think-and not make thoughts your aim;
[font=&quot]If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster[font=&quot]
And treat those two imposters just the same;
[font=&quot]If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
[font=&quot]
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
[font=&quot]
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
[font=&quot]
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

[font=&quot]If you can make one heap of all your winnings
[font=&quot]
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
[font=&quot]lose, and start again at your beginnings
[font=&quot]
And never breathe a word about your loss;
[font=&quot]If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
[font=&quot]
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
[font=&quot]
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
[font=&quot]
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!

"[font=&quot]If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
[font=&quot]
Or walk with Kings-nor lose the common touch'
[font=&quot]If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
[font=&quot]
If all men count with you, but none too much;
[font=&quot]If you can fill the unforgiving minute
[font=&quot]
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
[font=&quot]
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
[font=&quot]
And-which is more-you'll be a Man, my son!

(or Woman, of course)

E

Doing the things you like to do the majority of the time.

Need it be any more complicated than that? Also if you don't have huge financial resources then find something cheap and fun.

Welcome.

Being, doing, stop to smell the roses.

Life should not be a mad rush to get to the other side of the venue.  But each moment owned and savored by you/me.

I am free, I always have been and I always will be. I make My own rules,  I make My own decisions, I make My own mistakes, I accept the consequences of My actions.

I realize in the grand scheme of things, I make less of an impression than the hair on a gnats butt--I don't care.

I don't look to the mass majority to define Me, guide Me, dress Me.

I don't look to others for My happiness--

for if I did, that would be the greatest of prisons.
