People who engage in gay activities yet do not consider themselves gay or bi are self deluding. They have every right to be that, but that is what they are.

It might be splitting hairs, depending on the activity.  I would think, if anything, the term would be bi.  Unless I'm mistaken (and I could be) part of the basis for a cuckhold is that he does have some form of sexual desire for the woman.

Personally, I don't agree with the theory that activity equals orientation.  If a cuck is engaging in fluffing, for example, but hates it, I certainly wouldn't see it as putting him in a different sexual preference.

In a technical sense, Kal is correct.  Homosexuality is not restricted to 'wanting'.  In other words, a homosexual act is one that occurs between two people of the same sex.  The caveat I would suggest is that the usage of 'gay' is incorrect.  It is very a more a specific identity of 'wanting'.  In other words, gay is being attracted to the same sex, rather than participating in a homosexual act.  You cannot change language, it can only evolve naturally.  Apology for hijack.

. . . . And there'd be degrees of bisexuality as well.

But, oh dear, didn't we all thrash out this one out on the "hetero males sucking cock" thread?   Perhaps that thread should be brought back to the fore in order to remind everyone . . . .

No, that would be your attempt to get Me excited from across the pond on a (in My time zone) Sunday afternoon.

(Like the fond memories that this thread has reminded Me of hasn't done that already.)

Okay then, so reversing this logic... if a gay person were to have sex with the other gender, even if it was just once... then they are straight? Now and forevermore?

-just askin'...

I love that argument.  Pursue it a bit and it always scrambles things up nicely.

Seriously, though - this happened to a lesbian (?) friend of mine once: she fell for her first man ever at the grand old age of 42.  It really did mess up her head, as well.

Just like how people who engage in BDSM are 'sick', mentally ill, were abused, morally challenged etc etc etc?  Be careful about who you call delusional.

I disagree. "Gay" does not HAVE to carry the same stigmas as "sick". Gay sex is just same-sex interaction--the values placed on it are YOURS, they are not inherent in the word nor in the acts.

The fact that "gay" has carried stigmas of "unnatural", "sick", "maladjusted" etc in the past is not really a good reason to assume that the word must carry them in the present and the future. Nor that you need to honor and affirm the stigma by avoiding a legitimate and non-stigmatizing use of the word to describe biological reality. The same-sex status of two partners in an sexual act is NOT socially determined. It is simply a biological and medical fact.

Trying to escape the word "gay" to describe homosexual acts is just another way of stigmatizing them. It is part of the problem, not the solution.

As for BDSM language--we manipulate the language quite often to serve our purposes. However, as a community we don't reject the terms "bondage-domination-sadism-masochism" and refuse to deal with them simply because the outside world chooses to place stigmas on the terms and the acts they describe.

I think anyone who causes another person physical pain or emotional distress for pleasure and refuses to cop to the word "sadist" is also self-deluding. Honest use of language applies to things other than our "Gay" adventures.

Don't confuse heterosexual acts with heterosexual identity. The two are not at all the same thing.

There are many gay people, male and female, who are capable of enjoying sexual acts and relationships with opposite sex partners. Some of them have even been married and had children in the past. Their homosexual IDENTITY is about preferences and needs that go deeper, and often relate to their most profound levels of romantic and sexual feeling.

Sex does not need to be profound or romantically meaningful in order to be bio-medically "gay" or "straight". When it comes to a heterosexual man sucking another man's cock in a D/S scene, for example, the really profound interaction taking place is between the man and his Mistress--not between the two men. The act taking place is thus simultaneously "gay" (physically, and superficially) and "straight" (not physically, but emotionally and romantically). The excitement/thrill comes from the conflict between the identity and the act.

I sincerely doubt it, as, I've had heterosexual intercourse... uh... about 16 years ago now?  And partner 1 was married to a she-critter.  However, if one goes according to the Kinsey Scale, there are actually very few truly straight or truly gay people out there.  Most people fall under the middle area of the scale as being "technically" bisexual with various degrees of leaning one way or the other.  Even I, having no interest in relations with females, would technically be 'bi-sexual' because of past experiences, and would rate probably a 5 out of 6, being "Predominantly homosexual, only incidental heterosexual".

I think as society becomes less restrictive, we are finding that a lot more people are at least somewhat bi than we used to think.  Nothing wrong with being gay or bi.  As long as one is honest about it.
