The first day of spring has come and gone and when the day started, we were expecting 4 - 6 inches of snow.  I was excited to have fresh powder on the slopes for skiing this weekend.  Woke up this morning and it looks like we only had a light dusting of snow.  It look like spring might really be here afterall....

Now, everyone in the house thinks I am nuts for being excited over more snow (we received several inches last weekend), but I have found a new hobby and it requires snow!!!

How was everyone else's fisrt day of spring?

Mine was spent learning that KY gets warmer than CT faster...everyone in the house is sneezing except me...i love pollen, i eat it for breakfast!!!...its great in coffee and also, adds crisp to any cereal!!

No more snow down he-ah...muahahaaaahahaaa!!!

What on earth is your new hobby...or was it skiing? *scratches head and drinks a bit more coffee*

Yuck to the pollen; that stuff drives me nuts.  We have a few sneezing in our house but that is because of the snow mold.  I didn't even know that snow could grow mold until I moved up here!!!  So far, my allergies do not seem to be affected by it.

Yes, skiing is my new hobby.  It is so much fun and my body just aches afterwards.  This will most likely be the last weekend of the season for us.

Enjoy your pollen and I will go enjoy my snow  *g*

We had snow flurries, I took a coat that was too light for the forecast.  Wishful thinking, perhaps.

I can tell it is spring from the birds chirpy nature. They are at it into the afternoon when usually it is dead quiet mid afternoon.

I've been really missing spring. I miss Michigans long desolate winter slowly changing into spring, the scent of the earth waking up and the delicate green leaves unfurling for the blessings of the sun.

It is downright weird to have pansies flowering all winter long!

Pollen.  i have discovered that i am allergic to Florida, all of it.  ~wrinkles her nose, then smiles~  But i love the change of seasons.  It's warm enough for this cold-blooded Pennsylvania girl to walk around in shorts.

No chit about the pansies...that year i spent in ATL, i was low grade confused all year long...*dont say ANYTHING*...because the seasons never changed and all we got for snow was rain...and it never got below 40 and they planted winter flowers that are...to my midwestern state of mind, spring flowers....winter flowers would be carved of ice....

It's been an insanely mild winter here.  The fruit trees are already flowering.  I love that!

Freezing up here, should give up and light the fire. Too cold without the woodstove going.

Cold, dark, gloomy & rainy here.  With sun breaks.  Although one day last week I had the windows open & walked the dog without a coat.

You know what they say about sunshine on a rainy day: it makes my soul drip drip away.

We've had beautiful sunshine for several days in a row here on the south coast of England. The birds/small mammals such as squirrels have been in a love-making/nesting frenzy, gardens are full of sun-kissed daffodils in full bloom and all is well in my world. It warms the soul.

Bradford pears, redbuds, forsithia, jonquils, irises, chickweed, and everything else has burst alive down here in southern Arkansas. i'm happy for it, it means a fall and winter have past on the wheel and we're closer to Master's return.

Here's some pretties for you snow bunnies.

Today I was driving through wild hail, rain & snowstorms & noticing that the trees were in full bloom!
