The marriage thing is the best situation. Unfortunately, over the last three decades I have met many female subs who are married to guys who don't know a whip from a whiplash and have to look outside of their relationships.

I'd say sure they can.
I can't say a lot about the husband thing, but when I moved in with my Master, we didn't do a lot for a while, basically nothing (okay, part of it was due to me being shy, but most of it was mostly because we were adjusting to living with each other, work, every day routine, tha kind of thing)

Old School Girl here.. and if this Girl may say.. Eye's Fall with Respect.. When speaking of the Hand That Trained me..  In many part's of the World... Master's to Women are knowen as #2 Hubands to the One's that know of the Lifestyle We Walk In..  It is very Common.. The Trust of such Women and the Men that know of the Ring's and Mark's.. are in some part's of the World Very Taboo to Speak of..  The Women are Marked and Knowen To All as Trusted One's.. Memo: Look Up-  ** Gorean** Old Gaurd** or google  ** Red Silk Slave** ..   This might be a good place to Start as you find your Own Way  In The Lifestyle we walk in..   Nothing  is Set In Stone these days..from what I know of.. The World has changed in many way's and Only Sands of Time in Your Own World will Bring you to the Trust that Comes Between Master's and Husband's..  I also believe that if you Look for a Old Book.. which was made into a Porn a few Years back.. Might be a good place to Start as you think about the Lifestyle You and the One's that CAre about you.. Memo: **  The Story Of O ** This Book as Given to me when I was very young by a Man that Trained me and Brothers within the Lifestyle.. Reading the Book First.. I feel is the Best Way to find People of the Same Mind-Set.. Be Pure To Your Own Heart and The Hidden Desires With In.. It Might Take a Few Years To Find People of the Same Caliber.. EYE'S Fall With RESPECT..  and Searches the ground for Memories of his Angel Eye's..   One tear Fall's as I remember his touch and kind hands..
