Hey, I think we have to be realistic, if wanting the whole package including a beautiful-handsome one from top til toe, it can happen, but most often it doesnt, and by closing others, less beautiful out,we might loose out a fantastic relationship anyway. And I dont think we can demand and demand without keeping apperance up us self.
I have seen many coming up in their ages and suddenly wait for the perfect beauty-handsome one that never happen.

Above & beyond any other comments I have, I want to chime in with my vote for webcam-webcam-webcam . .... After plenty of odd experiences with online dating, I mostly prefer to pursue or continue conversation with those who unhesitatingly show me their face on webcam, live, moving, all that . . . . .

The pic / webcam thing has proven to be a most excellent filter, the flakes / fakes / time-wasting weirdoes seem to fade at being required to display that they are real, & really resemble whatever they've said they are . . . . . .

Appearances matter to some, including myself, so I respect that . . . . . But . . . . . Just cuz someone is within the physical parameters of what I tend to find attractive does _not_ mean I'll actually be attracted to that person, & being outside those parameters does not exclude the possibility of finding them attractive . . . . . Given that reality, pictures & webcam help me figure out if I could be physically attracted to that particular person . . . . . .

Best,
The Demon, Kia

I want to thank everyone who contributed to this thread. I asked the question because I'd recently met two different people who shared pictures with me. When I got to the meeting place, I had a hard time finding the people in the photo. In fact, one was now balding and about 50 lbs bigger.

I know we all like to think of ourselves as being younger than our age might indicate but there has to be more than a thread of truth to what we claim or the whole of our story is untrue... Kind of like, yes my wife knows (but she's treathend to leave if I do it again). And by the way, that is an example. I am single.

And for those who might wonder if I learned anything from this thread, the answer is yes. One of those leasons will have me in line to pay for a new webcam...

In and of themselves, pictures say a lot, and not a lot, depending on how you look at them.  With a critical eye, you can pretty much tell a lot about a potential girl.  If I can't get into contact with them via phone within say...3 e-mails, then I break contact.

A few things to look for:
1.  Pictures shot at a "creative" angle (they are hiding something?)
2.  Is the picture grainy, tiny, or does it look "too good" (professional?  stolen off of a porn site?)
3.  Is their profile filled in?  If not....or it is very limited....this is where the whole phone thing comes in

Basically, you just have to put yourself out there, and get to know people...
